Palmer takes another pole at Portimao

Jolyon Palmer is set up for a double victory at Portimao after claiming pole position for Sunday's Formula 2 race

The championship leader used his qualifying boosts to set a time quarter of a second quicker than anyone else and seal his fifth pole of the year.

Philipp Eng set the second quickest time, but will be relegated 10 places on the grid following his clash with Dean Stoneman on Saturday.

Ironically, it's Stoneman that will inherit the front row start from Eng, having used his boosts to set his quickest time early on. It was good enough for provisional pole, but he was soon bumped by Palmer and Eng.

Nicola de Marco and Benjamin Lariche will line up on row two, while row three has been claimed by Benelux - with Benjamin Bailly and Kelvin Snoeks set to start fifth and sixth.

Britons Jack Clarke and Will Bratt will take row four, with Mihai Marinescu and Ivan Samarin rounding out the top 10.
