Old faces in new places set testing pace
Jimmy Vasser and Michael Andretti had their first runs with their new teams for 2001 at Sebring, and the pair ended the first two days at the top of the time sheets
Vasser, who only clinched his deal with Pat Patrick's team on Sunday, was fastest at the end of running on Tuesday. The American is used to the combination, as he ran Reynard Toyotas at Ganassi last season, winning at Houston.
Andretti, in the gleaming new colours of his Team Green Motorola car, was getting his first taste of Honda power, and getting to know his new crew at Team Green's third car.
Christian Fittipaldi, winner of the season-closer at Fontana, was another trying a new combination for the first time, the Brazilian now with Toyota power in his Newman Haas Lola.
Mario Dominguez continued to impress the Bettenhausen team with his pace in the Mercedes-powered Lola, but with the German manufacturer having withdrawn from CART a question mark hangs over the Mexican's inclusion in the 2001 championship.
Testing continues, with champion Gil de Ferran and Penske team mate Helio Castroneves set to join in at the road course along with Team Green's Dario Franchitti.
