Negrao to make A1GP debut in China
Alexandre Negrao will make his A1GP race debut for Team Brazil at Shanghai this weekend
The 22-year-old GP2 veteran took part in the rookie sessions for the team at Brno in 2006 and at Durban earlier this season, and will step up to the race seat in place of Bruno Junqueira, who has IndyCar commitments in the USA.
"I'm so happy to be given this opportunity," said Negrao. "The car looked very good in South Africa and we were very competitive so I hope that we can have the same pace in China.
"I can't wait to get out to Shanghai and give it my all. I would like to finish in a strong points scoring position and reach the expectations of the team."
Team Brazil boss Emerson Fittipaldi added: "Xandi has been part of our team for a long time and I'm very pleased that we can now give him the opportunity to show what he can do in the races."
Fittipaldi will also retain the services of 17-year-old rookie Felipe Guimares after the South American F3 race winner made his A1GP debut in the rookie sessions in Mexico last month.
