Kane on pole for Lights opener
Jonny Kane will start Sunday's opening round of the Indy Lights series from pole position. The Team Kool Green driver was half a second faster round the streets of Long Beach than closet rival Scott Dixon
"It's excellent to get the pole," said Kane. "We didn't use our new tyres in the first session and we knew that most people in the top-10 had gone out on new rubber. I knew that from the feel of the car on old tyres that the car was pretty good and that we would pick up more grip on the new ones. I think that our strategy worked out really well.
"If we can get a good start, we'll be in good shape."
