Jokinen fastest in Marrakech practice
Johan Jokinen set the fastest time of Formula 2's first practice session on a street circuit at Marrakech today
The 19-year-old Dane launched himself to the top of the timesheet late in the session, finishing seven tenths clear of second-placed Dean Stoneman.
Stoneman had a brief spell at the top shortly after he spun with 10 minutes remaining, but he had no answer for Jokinen's reply two laps from the end.
Kazim Vasiliauskas was third quickest, ahead of Philipp Eng, Jolyon Palmer and Ricardo Teixeira.
The times were hugely spaced out, with more than two seconds between first and 10th places, as the drivers had just half an hour to find the limits between the walls.
Aside from Stoneman, there were spins by Armaan Ebrahim and Ajith Kumar, while Jack Clarke survived a brush with the wall and several drivers skipped the final chicane.
Benjamin Lariche was shown the black and white flag for crossing the pitlane entry line on one of his laps.
Jonathan Kennard took part in the session to conduct development work in the F2 test car, deputising for regular tester Steven Kane who is on BTCC duty this weekend.
