Herbert looks to CART future
Jaguar's Johnny Herbert is at this weekend's Michigan 500, hoping to secure a place in the CART series for 2001
"There's a couple of things going on," he said. "We're talking to everybody at the moment and it's just a case of seeing which ones come to fruition. It's interesting because it's nice to be here and it's nice to feel the feedback that has come since I got here so... It's been nice coming, and a nice reception."
The British F1 driver seems to have acknowledged his F1 career will be over at the end of this year. Perhaps he and Dario Franchitti - who tested for Jaguar last week -- will pass over the Atlantic sometime in December? It's a question many people are asking.
Herbert, a Grand Prix and Le Mans winner, would love to take on a new challenge, but was non-commital about where he may end up.
"I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be here (in CART) at all next season. I feel I can give a lot to them, and I'm sure I'll end up with someone, somewhere.
