Halliday targets Le Mans win
ALMS driver Liz Halliday has set her sights on taking a class victory at Le Mans this year with her Intersport Racing team, following the heartbreak of 2005 when her car retired from the LMP2 lead
The American, who kicked off proceedings on the Central Stage at the Autosport International Show, has signed up for an assault on the ALMS but is determined to make up for last year's disappointment in the French endurance classic.
"We had a great run at Le Mans," she said. "We were leading for a while and trying to push as hard as we can. But we want to try and get that win at Le Mans this year."
Although she described her experience at Le Mans as the 'best' of her life, she is enthusiastic about her full campaign in the ALMS.
"I really enjoyed the ALMS races I did this year. I was my first time at Road America and Mosport, which were really fantastic tracks. The series is a great championship and I've enjoyed working with different teams. It was a good experience."
Halliday will race alongside Clint Field in the LMP2 class at the ALMS.
