Haberfeld in Line to Replace Glock

Former Conquest and Walker Racing driver Mario Haberfeld could be in line to replace Timo Glock at this weekend's Monterrey Grand Prix

Haberfeld in Line to Replace Glock

According to speedtv.com, the 28-year-old Brazilian has been asked by Rocketsports team boss Paul Gentilozzi to be on standby for Timo Glock, who injured himself during a testing crash at Milwaukee earlier this month.

Haberfeld has flown to the Mexican circuit and will be ready to step in if Glock feels any ill effects after first practice later today.

"I don't know yet whether I'll race or not," Haberfeld said. "But I'm glad for being remembered. They wanted someone who could step in and do a good job immediately, someone who knew the car and the track."

Glock is still hopeful he will be fit enough to compete in the race. He said: "I really want to drive in Monterrey, not just for me, but for my team.

"They worked very long hours to put both mine and Ryan's car back together after the incidents in Milwaukee. I want the opportunity to give them back my gratitude by performing and scoring a podium finish."

Haberfeld's best finish at the circuit was 11th in 2003.
