Gary Anderson joins Team Ireland
Former Grand Prix technical director Gary Anderson will attempt to help Team Ireland resurrect their disappointing 2006/2007 season
Anderson will join the team as their race engineer for this weekend's event in New Zealand, where he will work with Richard Lyons, who is preparing for his second weekend as the team's race driver.
"I am happy to be working with Gary Anderson because he has tremendous experience and understanding of how to make a race car competitive," said Lyons.
The team are not expecting an instant change in fortunes, but they are hoping that Anderson's input can help them move towards the front of the field.
Lyons added: "We have a lot to do in order to catch up with the performance of the leading teams, but we are determined to bring a fresh approach and help Team Ireland score successes during the second part of the season.
"Obviously this will be Gary's first time working with the team and an A1GP car, but we have worked together before when I was racing in Japan and that went well."
