Fauzy raplaces Yoong at Malaysia
A1GP race winner Alex Yoong has been dropped by Team Malaysia for the round at Eastern Creek this weekend, in favour of Fairuz Fauzy
Yoong has started the last 45 A1GP races, winning four of them, but the team have not been satisfied with the results they have achieved in recent races.
Team Malaysia chief executive Jack Cunningham said: "We're having a really awful time of it at the moment and the results haven't been anywhere near our expectations."
"We've shown our capabilities in the first two seasons and we're hoping that with Fairuz being able to do the rookie sessions as well, we'll be able to boost our results."
Fauzy is currently competing in GP2 Asia and last season raced in the World Series by Renault as well as carrying out testing duties for the Spyker F1 team.
He's pleased to be returning to the series after racing four times for Team Malaysia in 2005: "Recently I've been concentrating on other racing programmes so I've not been available, but I'm delighted to be back with the team."
