Drivers want to race on GP circuit
Several leading Champ Car drivers have expressed their desire to race on the full Brand Hatch Grand Prix circuit, after completing the first day of practice for this weekend's London Champ Car Trophy, which is taking place on the 1.2-mile Indy track
The drivers expressed their enjoyment of the Indy track, but thought that the sight of Champ Cars racing around the full Grand Prix track would make for an unforgettable spectacle.
"I like the track a lot, I think it's beautiful," said Team Rahal star Michel Jourdain Jr. "But I wish we were racing on the big track because that would just be fantastic."
Series veteran Adrian Fernandez agreed. "I love the Grand Prix circuit," he said. "I wish we could race these cars on the full circuit because it would just be fantastic. But obviously, they haven't had much time to prepare the circuit, but it would be nice next year, if they can work something out."
But not all the drivers agreed. Amongst the dissenters was Rocketsports star Alex Tagliani. "I don't think it would be safe enough for us to drive on the full track," he said.
