Bourdais fastest in second test
Reigning champion Sebastien Bourdais topped the second and final session of Champ Car testing at the Milwaukee Mile this afternoon
The Newman/Haas driver took just 21.406 seconds to lap the 1.032-mile circuit at an average of 173.559mph, his quickest time of the day, but was some 0.2 seconds off Justin Wilson's top time of this morning. The British RuSPORT driver and team-mate AJ Allmendinger were seventh and ninth this afternoon.
Bourdais' team-mate Bruno Junqueira also set his fastest time of the day this afternoon to go third fastest in the session, fourth fastest in combined session times.
The three-hour session was brought to a close 20 minutes early however, due to a big shunt for Frenchman Nelson Philippe who backed his car into the wall between Turns 3 and 4, and has gone to hospital for precautionary scans.
The CTE Racing-HVM driver had looked extremely quick all day, and was fourth fastest when the accident happened. It was the second shunt of the session, as Oriol Servia drove his PKV Racing entry into the wall after 45 minutes of the session when a suspected component failure in the front-right suspension left him with no steering.
Team Australia's Alex Tagliani maintained his momentum from this morning's session, and wound up in second, just a tenth slower than Bourdais, while his team-mate Will Power remained quickest of the rookies to take eighth overall, and 10th in the combined test results.
Forsythe Championship Racing pairing of Paul Tracy and Mario Dominguez were fifth and sixth quickest.
Britain's Katherine Legge was another who found more time in the second session, to go 10th (13th in the combined times).
