Bailly fastest on home soil at Zolder
Benjamin Bailly topped a Formula 2 session for the first time this season, saving his best for home soil and setting the best time of today's second practice at Zolder
The 20-year-old, who hails from the outskirts of Liege - just 50km south of the Zolder circuit, posted the fastest time of the session right at the end.
He had been knocked off the top just seconds earlier by Armaan Ebrahaim, but responded with his final lap - although he set the time while there were yellow flags in the first sector.
Ebrahim finished up three tenths behind Bailly, with championship leader Jolyon Palmer third fastest.
Ivan Samarin, Will Bratt and Philipp Eng rounded out the top six, while Jonathan Kennard set the seventh quickest time in the F2 test and development car.
This morning's pace setter, Dean Stoneman, was only eighth, ahead of Kelvin Snoeks and Kazim Vasiliauskas.
Bailly's time followed a harmless trip through the gravel at Turn 2 early in the session. Ricardo Teixeira did the same soon after and then Jack Clarke spun off and got stuck at the same spot, causing the yellow flags that were still out at the conclusion.
