Autosport's team of expert journalists got together to try to assess who were the top 50 drivers of 2025. Here are the results.
Switching from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing to McLaren could have been a gamble for Christian Lundgaard. And while the 24-year-old Dane did not win a race in 2025, he was more consistently competitive than in his three IndyCar seasons with RLL, setting a career best of six podium finishes and claiming fifth place in the championship.
Lundgaard ran closer to Pato O'Ward than any of the Mexican’s McLaren team-mates to date, and he didn’t succumb to the squad’s unique pressure-packed culture. A decent finish in the finale (where his car broke) would have landed Lundgaard third in the standings.
