Autosport show to aid motorsport newcomers

Haymarket Exhibitions, the show organiser in London, UK, is to work closely with the Motor Sports Association, the British ASN, to encourage people of all ages into motorsport. A range of new initiatives will be implemented before and during Haymarket's 2004 Autosport International show, at the NEC in Birmingham over January 8-11. The MSA has been a leading exhibitor since the show's inception 13 years ago

Haymarket will undertake a pre-event marketing campaign in media outside motorsport to raise awareness of how easy and inexpensive it is to get started, and will ensure that aspiring competitors can acquire all the information they require in the National Motorsport area of the show.

Recognising that encouraging young karters is an essential element in safeguarding the future of the sport, the company has reduced weekend Autosport International ticket prices for MSA Kart National A & B licence holders from £20.00 to £6.00.

MD Gavin Brown commented: "Next year at Autosport International we're increasing the specialist areas of the show, which will cover more than one million square feet of exhibitor space. Working with the MSA, we'll offer the total spectrum of motorsport under one roof, and this is an ideal opportunity to encourage new people to the sport as well as helping current licence holders."
