Autosport show secures government backing
The 2002 Autosport International Show has managed to secure government funding for its engineering showcase for the second consecutive year, ensuring the motorsport industry's biggest exhibition continues to support UK engineering companies
The Autosport International Show incorporates Autosport Engineering, which next year takes place from January 10-11. For the second year running, the engineering forum has been devised in conjunction with government organisation Trade Partners UK, as a shop window for engineering companies to meet and greet potential clients. The Trade Partners UK Pavilion makes up an important part of the Autosport Engineering Show.
At this year's event in January, the 50 exhibitors selected to have stands in the pavilion held more than 1500 meetings. From them, 40 percent of contacts made are thought to have led to new business.
Trade Partners West Midlands deputy director Phillipa David said: "Although we are unable to divulge details of the orders which were won as a direct result of exhibiting at the show, we can confirm that within 12 weeks of the show, around £750,000 of overseas and UK orders were secured for the West Midlands region."
In next year's show, the Trade Partners Pavilion will feature 75 small to medium-sized companies as part of Autosport Engineering. The Trade Partners Pavilion also offers a support package of professional services, which includes advice on export and marketing.
