Aston confirm Sebring entry
Aston Martin Racing have confirmed that they will participate as a works team at this year's Sebring 12 Hours in March
Plans for this year remained unconfirmed while the manufacturer focus on their customer car programme, but they have now announced that their Prodrive-run squad will be back to defend their GT1 crown with a brace of DBR9s.
Aston have yet to confirm whether they will field any works teams in any other races this season, including the Le Mans 24 Hours. They are expected to be represented by at least six privateer entries at the endurance classic however.
David Richards, chairman of Prodrive, said: "As we know from our final two races of 2005, the ALMS is fiercely competitive and as ever, we expect a tough battle in GT1.
"When we came to Sebring last year it was for the DBR9's first race at the start of a test and development year. Our class victory was an excellent debut for the car, but even more importantly for me was the car's ability to follow this with many more victories and podiums around the world; not just in our hands, but in those of our customers."
