A1 GP Could Start Earlier in 2006
Next season's A1 Grand Prix series could start three weeks earlier
Great Britain's opening round of the winter series championship is currently scheduled for September 3, 2006, compared with the September 25 start for the maiden race this season.
The British Formula Three series has announced its Brands Hatch race will take place on that date, which circuit owners MSV had said would be a support to their second season round of the 'World Cup of Motorsport'.
However, A1 Grand Prix said that no date had been decided for next year, or whether the next calendar would be brought forward to accommodate more rounds.
An A1 GP spokesperson said: "We haven't agreed anything for next season yet, and nothing has been decided."
An MSV spokesperson however told Autosport-Atlas that subject to Formula One's calendar clashing, that the meeting is planned to go ahead in early September 5.
"We want Formula Three to support A1 Grand Prix and that is the date we have scheduled it for, but we are waiting for the F1 calendar to be decided," he said. "It could be moved if it seemed the right thing to do."
