It looks like Latvala has started the stage a minute late. More on that when we get it.
Stopwatch
Closest man to Lappi at the third split is Ostberg, but he's still 0.8s slower.
Stopwatch
Hanninen is slower than pacesetter Lappi, his rookie team-mate, by 3.3s.
Hanninen started the stage in fifth ahead of Lappi. The latter has cut the gap to 21.5s.

Ogier's not a happy bunny.
"There's something wrong in the car again," says Ogier. "I had massive understeer towards the end of the stage."

Stopwatch
Ogier completes, second quickest and 1.7s behind Lappi.
He's 1m15.3s behind sixth place Lappi, so there's not much to play for for the championship leader.

Stopwatch
Ogier had lost a few seconds at the first split to Lappi, but he's pulled back to 1.8s slower than Lappi at split two.
Quote
A good time for Lappi but a potential point of concern for the Finn.
"Maybe it's the wrong call and I should have saved them more," he says. "We'll see."

Lappi is in and fastest so far. He's 9.7s quicker than Mikkelsen on the stage.
Stopwatch
Mikkelsen lands, and he's 4.4s quicker than Sordo, who had a puncture.
Stopwatch
Sordo's time is a 8m11.9s. Nothing to compare that to yet.

Only a quick stage this, which is why hanging dust is an issue.

David Evans has further explanation of the below tweet:
It appears the debate about Jari-Matti Latvala’s time from SS12 might not be as clear-cut as the Finn would like to think.
One fellow competitor pointed out: “Look at the split times for Jari-Matti; he’s not losing so much time to the rest of the guys when he is caught in the dust. His time loss to Tanak is stable.
“The problem we have is that the stewards in Portugal set a precedent by giving Thierry the time back and now it’s going to be very difficult to maintain that.
"When you have dust, everybody wants to make a strong case and tell them (the stewards) they lost so much time. What happened in Portugal [with Neuville being awarded time back after being caught in – ironically – Latvala’s dust] was wrong.
"As competitors, this is part of the game and these kind of things usually even out across the season.”
There shouldn’t be any dust issues this afternoon, with the lead cars running at four-minute intervals.

It’s remarkable how much information is needed when you park a Lancia Stratos clothed in one of motorsport’s most evocative liveries next to it. Say hello to Alghero’s most photographed Lancia.

Sordo kicks off the stage in his Hyundai i20 JCB. Sorry, we mean WRC. He's cleaning the road, get it?
Never mind.

Scroll down for tyre allocations this afternoon, but missing from our previous post was Elfyn Evans. David Evans caught up with the Welshman.
Evans has taken six hard DMACKs and admitted this would be an important afternoon in terms of development for the British tyre firm.
He told Autosport: “Apart from maybe Australia, this is about the only afternoon where we’re going to be running hards and really working them.
"It’s a good chance to get some data from the tyres and find out how the development is coming along.
"There’s no doubt we’ve made a big step from last year and getting through this afternoon will help us get more data to move forward again.”

Here's a stage guide with rally-leading co-driver Seb Marshall.
SS10/13 Coiluna-Loelle (9.07 miles)
"This is traditionally one of the softer stages on the rally, but quite fast and flowing. In years gone by the organisers have used some of the technical narrow roads in the forest, where it’s a bit of a labyrinth to be honest, but this time we’re on more of the open roads.
"There’s one of the event’s bigger jumps near the start of the stage and then towards the end we go into a sort of gymkhana-type track a kilometre or so from the finish.
"The organisers have built another jump into this section, but the crews complained about how big it was after the recce, so the top’s been shaved off it.
"If they hadn’t done that, it’s quite likely we would have landed on the moon!"

That's Tanak taking an extra tyre than Paddon.
That means Tanak will have more weight and a more unstable car, but better grip on the final stage and a half or so (sorry, it's not an exact science).
Paddon will have less weight and better stability, but his tyre may wear quicker. It bodes well for the lead fight; Paddon leads by 9.4s.

Stopwatch
Paddon's net lead is only a second or two bigger, as Tanak has taken a chunk out of him, 5.2s to be exact.
"We made a few changes at the start of the stage and I felt good," says Paddon. "We were maybe a but aggressive with the tyre choice. We had no tyres and the car was trying to throw me into the trees."

Paddon is next to arrive and he's lost his major rival in Neuville. Times on the splits look good.

Neuville has no brakes!
"We have no brakes since the start," says Neuville. "I lost them at the end of the last stage."
"We have no brakes since the start," says Neuville. "I lost them at the end of the last stage."
Stopwatch
Neuville completes, he drops 1m07s to Tanak. That will drop him from second to fourth in the order. He stays ahead of Hanninen, Lappi and Ogier.
Quote
Neuville is 57.9s slower than paceman Tanak at the final split.
Tanak completes, fastest by 9s over Latvala.
"No drama, we're losing the brakes, the temperatures are low," says Tanak.

A furious Jari-Matti Latvala wants the organisers to give him time back after being stuck in Ostberg's dust.
"If I don't get time back...I need to get the time back," he says. "He has no radio or anything. That's not rally driving"
That's a Jari-Matti Latvala we've not heard before. He even hinted he wouldn't continue if he doesn't get the time back. He clearly believes he's in a victory battle and wants that time back.

What is clear for Ostberg is that he's lost a place to Ogier, even though he also had a puncture.
Stopwatch
Ostberg loses 2m16s to Sordo on the stage. Until we get other cars in, his place in the order isn't set overall.
Stopwatch
Paddon takes another tenth out of Tanak at split two.
Ostberg's time loss may force Latvala into his dust cloud.

Paddon is 2.3s FASTEST through the first split over Tanak.
Stopwatch
Neuville was second, 8.9 behind Paddon and 5.7s ahead of Tanak.
He'll likely drop to fifth or worse here.
