WRC - Italy: Lots of trouble for various drivers on this stage.

The latest to struggle is Elfyn Evans. 1m26.9s down on Ogier, but he did have differential trouble on the last stage.
WRC - Italy: Latvala reports problems with braking at the end of the stage.
WRC - Italy: Ostberg completes, 48.8s down on Ogier.

Latvala comes through shortly after, and he's slower than Ogier too. It's looking good for the reigning champion.

Latvala is 0.3s slower.
WRC - Italy: Ostberg is having an awful stage, could there be an issue? He's 37.8s down on Ogier through the final split.

Latvala is 2s down on Ogier in the same split.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Chequered flag is out and the Honda one-two holds up.

Here's the final order:

1 Marquez
2 Pedrosa
3 A Espargaro
4 Lorenzo
5 Vinales
6 Hernandez
7 Hayden
8 Rossi
9 Dovizioso
10 Crutchlow
11 Iannone
12 Redding
13 Abraham
14 P Espargaro
15 Smith
WRC - Italy: Ogier completes the stage in 9m52.6s.

"It's dry! I'm pretty happy. I cannot do better I just pushed as much as I can. Let's see at the end of the loop."

A positive Ogier delivers another brilliant time.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Sure enough Marquez goes fastest and makes it a Honda one-two, 0.2s quicker than Pedrosa with a 1m41.808s.

Espargaro is now third, followed by Lorenzo and Vinales.
WRC - Italy: So Ostberg wll be the next in as he has passsed the slowing Mikkelsen on the stage.

Latvala has gone 0.3s quicker than Ogier through the first split, so it looks like Ogier's time is a good one so far.
WRC - Italy: Mikkelsen's issue is rear suspension damage. He was third overall before the stage began.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Yonny Hernandez and Nicky Hayden have popped themselves up to sixth and seventh behind Marquez.

But now the world champion is turning the timing screens red (F1 readers, red is purple in MotoGP land)...
WRC - Italy: Ostberg is also considerably slower than Ogier, to the tune of 20.4s.
WRC - Italy: Mikkelsen has had an issue, he's 2m06.6s slower than Ogier through the first split...
MotoGP - Barcelona: Suzuki briefly has two bikes in the top three as Vinales finds more time and goes third.

But then Pedrosa scorches through on a 1m42.018s to depose Espargaro and put Honda on top overall.
WRC - Italy: Ogier is also through the second split as we await Mikkelsen and Ostberg's efforts. Latvala has also just got into the stage.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Lorenzo and Marquez have both put in better second times on recent runs without being able to topple Espargaro's Suzuki from first place overall.

And now Suzuki has two bikes in the top bikes - Maverick Vinales shoots up to fifth.
WRC - Italy: Ogier reaches the first split in 2m48.8s, can the Frenchman reduce the amont of time given up for sweeping the road on this stage?
WRC - Italy: Only two splits on this stage, just over nine miles in length. The cars will come thick and fast here.
WRC - Italy: Ogier is due to begin SS4 any second now. Strong winds and humid conditions on Montiferru.
WRC - Italy: The Italians have been given something to cheer about today, with Paolo Andreucci leading WRC2 after SS3 by 11.1s.

Esapekka Lappi continues the new Skoda Fabia R5 development, second behind the home favourite.
WRC - Italy: Here is a picture of your rally leader heading into SS4:

Two things: Yes that is a Hyundai, and no it isn't Neuville or Sordo!

Haydon Paddon leads Jari Matti-Latvala by 19.8s. He's in the new-spec Hyundai i20 for the first time, and what a way to mark the occasion.
MotoGP - Barcelona: While one Espargaro brother is leading the way, the other is exploring the gravel. Pol's had a couple of excursions already this morning and is ninth right now.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Espargaro is pushing on, scooting over the Turn 1/2 run-off on his latest lap. The Suzuki is two tenths up on Lorenzo at the moment.

Crutchlow's seventh place - within 0.7s of the pace - is a good start considering he dislocated his ankle in a crash in the last round at Mugello.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Early in the opening session in Spain, it's a Suzuki on top with Aleix Espargaro setting the pace.

Jorge Lorenzo lurks behind him, followed by Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow.
WRC - Italy: Up next then is SS4, Montiferru.

Apart from sounding like a type of fruit, the 9.45 mile is lined by trees, as our stage guide for the weekend Jari Matti-Latvala explains:

"The first four kilometres of this stage are very, very rough. After that the road is getting smoother.

"One of the things about this stage is that it is constantly diving in and out of the trees, with the shade of the sun it can make some of the corners hard to see – it can be quite tricky."

The running order for today is set by championship positions:

Ogier
Mikkelsen
Ostberg
Meeke
Latvala
Evans
Sordo
Neuville
Prokop
Tanak
WRC - Italy: We'll be back in 15 minutes for the morning's penultimate stage, which Ogier will commence at 09:29.
WRC - Italy: A quick recap of the stage:

Haydon Paddon continues to lead the rally after his second consecutive stage win.

Ott Tanak pumps in another great time, third on the stage and he's fifth behind Ogier on the road.

Sebastien Ogier claims he "couldn't have driven better" on a tricky stage to sweep. Damage limitation for him, eighth on the stage.
WRC - Italy: The rally overall after SS3:

1 Paddon 34m31.5s
2 Latvala +19.8s
3 Mikkelsen +21.5s
4 Ogier +22.3s
5 Tanak +27s
6 Sordo +29.6s
WRC - Italy: SS3 result:

1 Paddon 13m48.1s
2 Latvala +11s
3 Tanak +11.5s
4 Mikkelsen +12.8s
5 Neuville +13.4s
6 Osberg +15.4s
WRC - Italy: Paddon is 11s quicker than Latvala.

This really is brilliant stuff from the Kiwi, favourable road position or not.

His rally lead is now an incredible 19.8s after three stages, two this morning.

"The tyres went off a bit in the second half of that one so we'll change to hards for the next."

He hit another rock on this stage, but again he survives and takes a stage win. Does he need to hit a rock to score the fastest stage time, we wonder!
WRC - Italy: Tanak has some sort of problem at the front of the car according to him. Surely it didn't affect that brilliant stage time.

Kubica has stopped on the stage.
WRC - Italy: Tanak goes second, 0.5s off Latvala. Another tip-top time for the Estonian. Kudos.
WRC - Italy: Paddon is around 8s up on Latvala at the third split, can he keep this up through the slippery final sector?

Tanak is through next and he did a fantastic job on the previous stage, fastest of the hard tyre runners.
WRC - Italy: Neuville continues his renaissance, third quickest on this one as he looks to bounce back after the last two rallies.

He's only 2.4s off Latvala but stays fifth overall.
WRC - Italy: Paddon is on fire! The rally leader is 11s up on Latvala at the second split!

The Kiwi is enjoying this one.
WRC - Italy: Sordo comes through fourth, 4.9s down on Latvala.

"Better than I expect, we had a problem in the middle of the stage with the pacenotes," he said.
WRC - Italy: Evans has lost 49.9s to Latvala there.

"We have a huge problem," says Evans. "I don't know what it is yet but something with the differential."

That's a shame for the Brit who was pretty much on the leaders pace until the third split in that stage.
WRC - Italy: Elfyn Evans is up next, followed by the Hyundais of Sordo and Neuville.
WRC - Italy: Latvala reckons that Ogier must have struggled clearing the road on that stage.

It certainly looks that way as Latvala was 7.3s quicker than Ogier there.
WRC - Italy: Latvala is through fastest, 13m59.1s.

That's 1.8s up on Mikkelsen and moves him ahead of his team-mate overall in the rally.
WRC - Italy: Ostberg should have gone quicker than Mikkelsen according to the splits, but he comes through faster than Ogier but slower than Mikkelsen.

Ostberg can't explain why he lost so much time in the final sector.
