WRC - Italy: Here's Dan Barritt's notes on the monster stage now under way:

"This stage is nice, wide and fast in places, but everybody knows this one for Micky's Jump.

"This is a completely different kind of jump to the one in the stage previous – the approach is so steep, but it's a real up and nose down jump. You have to knock a lot of speed off here, if you don't you'll be flying a long, long way.

"Monte Lerno's a fantastic stage, but it's so abrasive – the second pass will be very hard on the tyres."
WRC - Italy: Doesn't look on our system like Sordo has gone onto the next stage yet, which puts him behind schedule. He was reporting some problems with the Hyundai at the end of the last one - and was already outside the top 40 following his Friday issues.

The only Hyundai running smoothly this weekend so far is the one that's leading...

Word is Sordo's car won't start.
WRC - Italy: Wonder if there will be a convoluted bit of detail behind Mikkelsen's latest drama?

His engineer Richard Browne took time to explain the slightly strange circumstances of his Friday exit to us last night:

"There was a big impact 500 metres before the end of SS3 and it was a proper impact, we saw that on the data.

"The first five kilometres of the next stage were really rough and the plan was to drive through really carefully.

"Andreas said the feeling wasn't too bad and I think this lulled him into a false sense of security, so he pushed on a little bit.

"He went wide on a left-hander and the damper broke through the top-mount.

"He then had about 12km to drive like this and the constant vibration on the rear corner caused a pipe feeding the collector in the tank to break.

"Once the fuel in the collector was used, that was it, the engine stopped."

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Monaco winner Jazeman Jaafar felt that missing FP1 on Friday with a clucth problem prevented him from fine-tuning his Fortec car's qualifying set-up.

"We had a broken gear-selector and an overheating clutch that cost us an hour on Friday," said the Malaysian. "I felt the balance could have been a little bit better, but Ollie did a great lap to take pole.

"The race is smack at noon so, judging from FP2, I expect tyre deg' to be quite high. We'll change the car quite significantly from the qualifying set-up for the race."
MotoGP - Barcelona: After that dramatic final phase of FP3, here's the top 10:

1 Vinales
2 Aleix Espargaro
3 Lorenzo
4 Dovisioso
5 Marquez
6 Pol Espargaro
7 Rossi
8 Crutchlow
9 Hernandez
10 Smith
MotoGP - Barcelona: All eyes now on Rossi - and he does it! The Yamaha rider improves to seventh, but pushes out Dani Pedrosa as a result. The Spaniard is down in P11 and must come through Q1.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Aleix Espargaro moves into second so it's currently a 1-2 for Suzuki.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Vinales goes fastest with a 1m41.105s as Crutchlow improves to seventh.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Smith improves again - he's up to seventh.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Bradley Smith improves from a lowly 19th but can only manage 10th. Improvements from others have pushed Scott Redding and Cal Crutchlow out of the top 10 as well.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Pol Espargaro has moved up to fifth, which edges Rossi down to 11th.
WRC - Italy: All of that sets us up very nicely for the longest stage of the day - Monte Lerno is five minutes away...
WRC - Italy - SS13 summary:

* Latvala loses three and a half minutes and falls from third to sixth when he has to stop to change a damaged tyre

* Paddon is slightly faster than Ogier and rebuilds his lead to 8.5s

* Ostberg wins the stage and pulls clear of Neuville...

* ...who loses time anyway with power steering trouble
MotoGP - Barcelona: Rossi now sneaks into the top 10 with a 1m42.224s. But he's still only P10.
WRC - Italy - SS13 results:

Stage times:

1 Ostberg 24m04.1s
2 Paddon +1.8s
3 Tanak +2.6s
4 Ogier +3.2s
5 Evans +14.0s
6 Sordo +27.2s

Overall leaderboard:

1 Paddon
2 Ogier +8.5s
3 Tanak +1m02.4s
4 Ostberg +1m54.7s
5 Neuville +2m53.4s
6 Latvala +3m53.3s
MotoGP - Barcelona: Marquez once again misses the apex as he goes through Turn 10.
WRC - Italy: Czech privateer Prokop, briefly our rally leader after his Thursday night superspecial performance, has lost six minutes on this stage through a pretty miserable combination of two punctures and a loss of oil pressure.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Jack Miller appears to have crashed at Turn 4. The LCR Honda rider is stood at the edge of the track but no clues as to what happened to him so far.
WRC - Italy: With Latvala delayed, Paddon is told it's now a straight fight for victory between him and Ogier.

"I didn't expect anyone would be saying that to me this year," says Hyundai's Kiwi star.
WRC - Italy: "That's a surprise..." is Paddon's response to pulling away from the world champion.
WRC - Italy: Paddon finishes the stage 1.4s quicker than Ogier! He's building his lead!
WRC - Italy: Nice time from Tanak, he's second fastest to Ostberg and with Latvala delayed, that's going to move him up to third overall.

But Tanak's not totally pleased, he had to change a damaged tyre after the last stage so his tyre compound strategy is skewed.
WRC - Italy: Back to the lead battle on the splits, Paddon is only three tenths slower than Ogier at the next marker.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Lorenzo and Aleix Espargaro are the only riders who have made it into the 1m41s so far this session.
WRC - Italy: Trouble for Neuville too, he's lost nearly a minute.

"Power steering is gone and the windscreen is full of oil," Neuville reports.

That plus Ostberg's likely stage win basically ends that Norway versus Belgium battle for what had been fifth place.
WRC - Italy: Latvala is through and he's lost three and a half minutes. Turns out he had to stop to change a wheel.

"We just came over the jump, landed a little bit sideways and the tyre came off the rim as we landed. Maybe I had a bit too much load on one wheel over the landing."

Latvala adds that he kept going for a while to see if he could get to the finish on the damaged tyre, and also had a moment where he slowed because he had a mistaken notification that the stage was 'under yellow'.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Marc Marquez abandons his lap. Replays show the world champion missing the apex at Turn 10.
WRC - Italy: Paddon's pulling some time back now. He'd been 1.8s slower than Ogier on the early splits, now that gap is down to just half a second. And we know from Ogier's own admission that he made a mistake later on the stage - might Paddon end up pulling away again...?
MotoGP - Barcelona: Now Rossi has been edged out of the top 10 by Yonny Hernandez.
MotoGP - Barcelona: After 20 minutes, Lorenzo now tops the session on the same time as Aleix Espargaro. Rossi is the only other rider to have improved their time from yesterday in the scramble to make the top 10 and Q2.
WRC - Italy: Great stuff from Ostberg, he's just beaten Ogier by 3.2s to take the provisional stage win so far. He's set to storm away from Neuville in their battle for what is now going to be fourth following Latvala's delay.
WRC - Italy: Ogier finishes the stage. Latvala is off his tail, he's catching Paddon - he's chilled:

"It's a little bit rough, that's true. But not so bad. It's quite tough in the forests, a bit damp. If I'd known that I'd have used more softs. I'll just try to keep clean driving and not do too much.

"I just made a little mistake where I missed a gear and was in fourth gear in a hairpin and nearly rolled. But that was maybe two seconds, it's not so bad."
MotoGP-Barcelona: After completing a lap, Aleix Espargaro ran wide at Turn 1 after looking down and adjusting his brake levers.
WRC - Italy: Latvala is running again, so seems to have voluntarily put his wheel back on, but he's lost two minutes.

Meanwhile Ogier is 1.8s up on Paddon on the splits.
WRC - Italy: We had a gap where Mikkelsen should've been, but now Sordo is through and fastest so far, despite fuel pressure worries.
MotoGP - Barcelona: The track has gone quiet - Lorenzo and Aleix Espargaro are two of the four riders currently out on track.
MotoGP - Barcelona: Replays showed Laverty crashed under braking for Turn 5. He was able to walk away from the scene but the bike looked quite badly damaged.
MotoGP Barcelona: Valentino Rossi has crept into the top 10 and now sits P10 after the early exchanges but he still looks under pressure to make Q2.
