Wedging Webb open allowed Beche to nip through for seventh place, too. So the ByKolles car is now down to 8th.
Sarrazin dives down the inside of Webb at Village and takes sixth away.
They're already ducking and diving between lapped GTE Am traffic, battling over sixth place.
A recovering Stephane Sarrazin is all over the back of Oliver Webb in the lone ByKolles.
Farfus meanwhile is having to defend hard from Andy Priaulx behind, hogging the inside line at Brooklands. It's just as well the BMW M8 is so bulky, then.
GTE Pro is, unsurprisingly, very close. Sam Bird has slipped past Alex Lynn for third, making it Porsche-Aston Martin-Ferrari for the podium places.
And indeed, the #31 DragonSpeed caused all of that. It seems it was down on power, something Pla couldn't have expected. It also caused that earlier traffic jam at The Loop too.
It appears Pla might have clipped an LMP2 to send him wide on the opening lap.
Oli Pla is showing his #66 Ford GT had pole for a reason. He's set fastest lap in GTE Pro. Looks like there's no damage from his off, then.
Both Toyotas have already begun to disappear into the distance in LMP1. Aleshin is already 11 seconds behind in third.
Out front, Kobayashi still leads Buemi, separated by 1.3 seconds.
It appears the LMP2 class #31 DragonSpeed got caught up in that first lap stramash too. Roberto Gonzalez is currently running in amongst the GTE Pro cars.
Kevin Estre now leads GTE Pro for Porsche but Aston Martin are still in the mix. Sorensen past his team-mate Alex Lynn for second, with Lynn holding third.
GTE Pro polesitter Oli Pla was the car that went wide at Abbey on the first lap and is now last in class. The other Ford GT, currently with Priaulx at the wheel, also had a poor start.
Phew! That was a chaotic start. But there's more to rewind and catch up on. Next stop for catch-up; GTE Pro.
Mathias Beche was simply too hot into Abbey, clipped Stephane Sarrazin's right rear and both turned around.
A Rebellion clipped an SMP going into Abbey on the first lap, which caused a cascade effect further down the field, replays show.
Ben Hanley in the DragonSpeed is already 4th after starting seventh.
LMP1 as a whole has been decimated however - the #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing car that leads LMP2 is fifth overall.
It's been a messy start and there's now a traffic jam at The Loop! This is chaos.

A little bit of pre-race entertainment going on right now - oil drums have been turned into musical drums. Don't try this at your local garage though. You're guaranteed to get noise complaints.
One of Toyota's LMP1 rivals goes into the Silverstone 6 Hours on the back foot. Rebellion's #1 car lost Bruno Senna on Friday to a broken ankle sustained in a practice crash, leaving only Andre Lotterer and Neel Jani to co-pilot the lead Rebellion this afternoon. Jani isn't too optimistic for this afternoon.

Firstly, a quick refresher of qualifying. The #7 Toyota of of Mike Conway, Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi is on pole position in LMP1, while GTE Pro looks closer than ever with a resurgent Aston Martin now Ford's closest challenger.
