DTM - Moscow Raceway: Oh, and how's this for close - the top six are covered by 0.092s.

Moto2 - Silverstone: A slow-mo close-up of Rabat's rear tyre suggests it's wearing very, very badly indeed.

Xavier Simeon is into the pits to grab a slick-shod bike.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: That'll be it. Rockenfeller will start this afternoon's second race of the weekend on pole. He finished up 0.038s clear of Ekstrom (who'll drop to fifth on the grid).

That will elevate Bruno Spengler to the front row, ahead of Martin, Green, Ekstrom, Muller, Paffett, Blomqvist, Farfus and Wittmann. Wehrlein was 11th. We'll have the full report online shortly.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Paffett goes fifth after the chequered flag, but is dropped down to sixth, as Martin goes third.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Final moments here, still Rockenfeller from Eksteom and Green, as Muller makes it an all-Audi top four. Blomqvist is fifth.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Zarco is finding massively more pace than anyone else on the drying track. He's been over a second quicker than the rest for the last two laps and is now 3.5s clear of the battling Rabat, Rins and Marquez.

Lowes remains seventh, with Ricky Cardus and Anthony West now chasing him.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Wehrlein jumps into fifth, as we enter the final minute.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Rockenfeller goes fastest with a 1m28.540s, Green is up to third.

Moto2 - Silverstone: A growing lead for Zarco now with Rabat back past Rins for second and Marquez trying to follow him.

Slick-shod Alt is on the same pace as the leaders but not dramatically faster. Ten laps to go, track still drying and clouds quite light in colour.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: As we start the final runs, Audi and BMW have three cars each inside the top six, the best Mercedes is Paffett in seventh.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Zarco makes his move into Brooklands and takes the race lead off Rins.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Spengler jumps up to fifth, Glock improves to 16th.

With six minutes to go, it's about to get busy again.

Moto2 - Silverstone: One-third distance passed, Rins is clinging on to the lead but has Zarco, Marquez, Rabat, Luthi and Folger making a six-bike train.

Lowes has fought through to seventh, but there's a 7s gap to the lead pack ahead.

Alt's times on slicks are now as good as the leaders' pace on wets.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Just Spengler, currently 20th, and Glock, 24th on track at the moment. Glock looks set to improve with this lap, he qualified fourth yesterday.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Halfway through the session, the order is Ekstrom from Wittmann, Rockenfeller, Mortara, Blomqvist, Paffett, Green, Martin, Gotz and Muller. Wehrlein is 18th.

We've got a relatively sparse circuit now, with the first runs complete.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Rins now has Zarco and Marquez right on his tail for the lead again.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Mortara and Paffett slot into fourth and sixth. Paffett starred yesterday, charging from 20th on the grid to seventh in the race.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Rins is taking advantage of a lot of action between Marquez, Zarco and Rabat to build a bit of a lead, but he can't get more than a second clear.

Are the wet tyres going to last the remaining 14 laps if it doesn't rain again? Midfielders Florian Alt and Louis Rossi are trying slicks...

DTM - Moscow Raceway: And now it's Ekstrom, who goes top ahead of Wittmann, Rockenfeller, Blomqvist and Green, seven minutes in.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Wittmann is now on top with a 1m28.686s. He was on pole yesterday with a 1m28.810s.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Mixed fortunes for Blomqvist. He went fastest, then had a lurid spin after running wide on the exit of Turn 2. It spat him back across the track, narrowly missing stablemate Tomczyk, who was minding his business on the run to Turn 3.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Rins makes a break in the lead, with Marc VDS team-mates Marquez and Rabat squabbling over second for a while before the younger Spaniard escapes and leaves Rabat to fight with Zarco once again.

Now it's Rins leading Marquez, like the old Moto3 days.

Lowes is stuck in a dice with Simone Corsi and Nakagami and runs 10th.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Zarco briefly takes the lead, then gets elbowed back aside by Rabat at Club.

It's Rins who takes full advantage, sweeping into first place, while Zarco is down to fifth.

Rabat and Rins swap the lead twice more, and Alex Marquez is making progress amid all this, getting up to third.

Lowes is back in ninth.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: The 20-minute session is underway. These sessions have been a welcome addition to the weekends in 2015.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Rabat completed lap one of 18 with an 0.8s lead over the battling Rins and Zarco. The points leader made it through on the rookie into Becketts.

Lowes dropped right back to ninth but is starting to regain ground, repassing Takaaki Nakagami.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: It's a fine and windy day here in Moscowish. There is a bit of cloud cover, but nothing too threatening.

If you missed yesterday's race, Mercedes' Pascal Wehrlein won and moved back into top spot on the standings, with seven races to go.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Lowes is losing more ground, down to seventh now. Rabat is having a storming first lap, opening up a comfortable gap.

DTM - Moscow Raceway: Qualifying for Sunday's second race of the weekend is about five minutes away, and we will have a full quota of cars.

Mercedes worked until 4am to get Christian Vietoris' car repaired - basically everything in the front end is new, including the engine - while the Abt Audis of Mattias Ekstrom and Miguel Molina are both up and about as well.

Ekstrom topped the morning warm-up, ahead of Molina and BMW's Bruno Spengler, but he will serve a three-place grid penalty today, for his clash with Timo Glock. The Turn 7 incident impressed the BMW man...

Moto2 - Silverstone: Race day starts with a Brit on pole - for the first time in a motorcycle grand prix at Silverstone since Barry Sheene's 500cc pole (ahead of Johnny Cecotto and Steve Parrish) here in 1977.

It's been a typically eventful weekend for Moto2 star Sam Lowes: he missed his 'in' board during qualifying and ran out of fuel near Stowe, but managed to get his Speed Up under the fence (dropping it on the way, which he hoped no one noticed...), on a truck and back to the pits in time to secure pole. He then had a tumble in the warm-up this morning.

It's a close front row: just 0.074s covers Austin winner Lowes, rookie sensation Alex Rins and championship leader Johann Zarco.

Fourth is reigning champion Tito Rabat, who'll be racing in some discomfort today after a nasty high-side in the complex during qualifying, in which he collected Dominique Aegerter. He escaped with bruising to his legs. His Marc VDS team-mate Alex Marquez - brother of Marc and reigning Moto3 champion - has been quick this weekend too but starts ninth.

Incidentally Lowes has been increasingly unsubtle about his 2016 plans this weekend. A move to MotoGP with Aprilia is anticipated.
