WEC - Interlagos: Not to forget the other classes, Pla is on top in P2 for OAK, Lietz in GTE Pro for Porsche and series debutant Thiim for Aston Martin in GTE Am.

IndyCar - Baltimore: And here we go again.
WEC - Interlagos: Le Mans feels like a long time ago - the WEC has burst back into life after more than two months of inactivity here at Interlagos.
FP1 has just started, and so far Duval, Davidson and Treluyer are separated by just four tenths at the top of the times.

Red flag
IndyCar - Baltimore: ... and we have a red flag. Stefan Wilson is off at Turn 5.
Moto2 - Silverstone: Rabat deposes Nakagami at the head of the timesheets. Zarco, Espargaro and Redding are still next up, but the latter has been joined in the top six by compatriot Danny Kent, who is also the last man in the 2m08s bracket.
IndyCar - Baltimore: The early session leader is Tony Kanaan, and ...
Green flag
IndyCar - Baltimore: Back underway. Actually, the session restarted a couple of minutes ago, but we were busy chatting and missed the green flag.
Noteworthy this weekend is the first IndyCar appearance by Stefan Wilson in the #18 Dale Coyne entry, a car that has been driven by approximately 9,000,002 other people this year.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Ten minutes in and it's as close as you like. Nakagami leads the way at present, but Zarco, Espargaro and Redding are all within 0.4s of the Kalex Honda rider.
Yellow flag
IndyCar - Baltimore: And an immediate yellow flag. This happens so often that we need a special logo for it. It looks like Bourdais is in the run-off.
Green flag
IndyCar - Baltimore: Green flag.

Moto2 - Silverstone: Friday's final Moto2 practice session is underway.
Scott Redding boosted hopes of a Silverstone home win when he topped this morning's first session, although title rival Pol Espargaro was just 0.059s down the road.
Redding also had good news for the home fans on Thursday - if you missed it, he confirmed his long-awaited progression into the premier class next year with the satellite Gresini Honda squad.

IndyCar - Baltimore: It's sunny. It's slightly humid. The air smells of crab cakes. And there's an old-school baseball stadium just over there. We must be in Baltimore. And in a couple of minutes, IndyCar will be on track for its first session of the weekend.

1 Lorenzo; 2 Marquez; 3 Pedrosa; 4 Bautista; 5 Rossi; 6 Crutchlow; 7 Dovizioso; 8 Smith; 9 Bradl; 10 Hayden

Jorge Lorenzo MotoGP 2013
MotoGP - Silverstone: Chequered flag, and it is indeed Lorenzo who seals top spot and ends day one on top.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Looks like a quiet end to the session, less than a minute to go and none of the frontrunners on quicker laps.
Crash
MotoGP - Silverstone: Our first shunt of the day, as Bryan Staring falls and limps away from his bike.
MotoGP - Silverstone: As we go into the final minutes, Marquez gets down to within two tenths of Lorenzo.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Rossi is working his way forwards, using the hard tyre he's jumped to fourth place now.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Halfway through the session, Lorenzo and Marquez's early times have held up as the bencmarks.
Here's the current order:

Jorge Lorenzo
MotoGP - Silverstone: Lorenzo is not messing about this afternoon. His first flying lap is a 2m02.734s, which is sub-lap record pace and 0.4s clear of Marquez's initial effort.
Things have been a bit bike-dominated so far this morning, but if you feel the Yamahas, Ducatis and Hondas need some more wheels, it's not long until IndyCar practice begins in Baltimore and the World Endurance Championship stirs in Brazil.
Green flag
MotoGP - Silverstone: Free practice two for MotoGP is go. Twenty riders immediately hit the track.

Moto3 - Silverstone - practice one results: 1 M Vinales; 2 Oliveira; 3 Folger; 4 Salom; 5 Marquez; 6 Rins; 7 Masbou; 8 Antonelli; 9 Miller; 10 I Vinales.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Moto3 practice is well underway and Luis Salom is top at the moment.
2m15.002s is his benchmark. That's 0.368s quicker than Maverick Vinales in second. If you're wondering how the Brits are doing, Moto3 regular John McPhee is 27th, with wildcards Wayne Ryan 29th and Kyle Ryde last of the 35 runners.

MotoGP - Silverstone: Just in case you weren't sure, the Riders for Health charity uses reliable motorcycles and ambulances to reach 14 million people in Africa. So a very, very worth cause.
Incidentally, the auction was hosted by charity co-founder and racing legend Randy Mamola, Eurosport duo Julian Ryder and Toby Moody (off of AUTOSPORT too, of course), MotoGP commentator Gavin Emmett and BBC MotoGP presenter Matt Roberts.
It certainly kept a packed audience entertained throughout. A good job well done by all.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Some more from the Day of Champions auction. Did you know that the riders did not just donate prizes, they were themselves were on hand to help out?
Tech 3 pair Crutchlow and Bradley Smith helped close out the day. Smith auctioned a helmet for £1,600 and a set of leathers for £900. Crutchlow auctioned nine items, including a set of leathers worn during his podium ride in Mugello selling for £2,600, and the bottle of champagne from his podium at Le Mans raising £500.

MotoGP - Silverstone: Before his group sat down for their press conference, Crutchlow was the BBC's guest challenger to Mark Lawrenson, who attempts to predict the Premier League scores each weekend.
Before making some 'well-informed' predictions, Crutchlow demonstrated some pretty decent football skills.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Honda rider Marquez continued his incredible run of form in the opening session earlier today. AUTOSPORT's Toby Moody, though, has reservations about the Spaniard's prodigious talents.
No, he doesn't doubt how good he is. But he is concerned he might be too good for the sport. Interested? Read on...

Breaking news
MotoGP - Silverstone: If you missed it on the site, here's how first practice at Silverstone went down. Marc Marquez - who else? - topped the times. Local hero Cal Crutchlow was third.

MotoGP - Silverstone: Among the items was a Bridgestone racing tyre, signed by every rider, which fetched £4,600 - the highest single effort of the auction.
Caps, elbow and knee sliders and boots were donated by several riders themselves, while the corporate arm of MotoGP put up grid passes, VIP tickets and F1 factory tours.
A mighty effort for a great cause.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Proof that elite racing (be it on two or four wheels) has great heart: MotoGP's Day of Champions auction raised an astonishing £77,090 for the Riders for Health charity in just five hours.
MotoGP - Silverstone: We wonder if Ducati's superior trackside hospitality unit (see 10:30) is the real reason for Cal Crutchlow's impending partnership with the Italian squad...

MotoGP fans
MotoGP - Silverstone: Paddock entertainment, MotoGP style - which apparently means men dressed as elderly women, riding motorised shopping carts and blaring out some R&B.
Shockingly, it seems to work if this guy is anything to go by.

Ducati MotoGP
MotoGP - Silverstone: Ducati might not be winning on track, but in our eyes they top the unofficial battle of the hospitalities. This is their mammoth Silverstone unit:
