IndyCar - Baltimore: All cars have now completed at least an installation lap, and Newgarden is still the benchmark with 24 minutes remaining.
IndyCar - Baltimore: Graham Rahal goes to P1. When was the last time that happened? We mean that in a nice way: Rahal is a solid driver, but he has not had a glorious season up to this point.
IndyCar - Baltimore: Rookie Tristan Vautier replaces Graham Rahal at the top.
NASCAR - Atlanta: The fact that the EGR press conference was scheduled for 25 minutes before Cup practice started was probably a giveaway that it wasn't a current Cup driver being announced, wasn't it?

Cars are hitting the track at Atlanta now for an hour and a half to sort their qualifying set-ups before tonight's pole fight.

There are then two more practice sessions on Saturday before the race at 7.30pm local time on Sunday.
IndyCar - Baltimore: Lucky escape for James Hinchcliffe, who hit the tyres inside the entry to the chicane hard enough to dislodge them and flick the left-front side of his car skyward, yet amazingly appears to have escaped damage.

Vautier is still P1 with just under 10 minutes left.
ERC - Zlin: The European Rally Championship's Czech round is due to start shortly with an evening superspecial through the streets of host town Zlin.

Ninety crews are entered, but all eyes are on the factory Skoda trio at the front: Jan Kopecky, Esapekka Lappi and Sepp Wiegand, plus ex-factory WRC driver Roman Kresta in his own Fabia.
IndyCar - Baltimore: That's how you do it, Hinch. Saavedra hits the tyres in the middle of the chicane, then plows on and demolishes the tyre stack at the exit. Not surprisingly, the Colombian is in the pits having a new front wing put on.
IndyCar - Baltimore: Looked up just in time to see that someone - we think Justin Wilson - had spun. All cars are back in the pits now, so no harm done. Just under five minutes left, and Vautier remains on top.
Ekaterina Stratieva

Ekaterina Stratieva

ERC - Zlin: ERC Ladies' Trophy leader Ekaterina Stratieva is currently in a race against time to make the start of the event. She's trying to get parts hurried from service 10 kilometres away to repair a steering problem on her Citroen.

Here's Stratieva and co-driver Veronica Boni earlier today with some of their fans. Fans who believe Stratieva and Boni are pirates.
IndyCar - Baltimore: It was indeed Justin Wilson, and the spin happened at Turn 3.
ERC - Zlin: Huge crowds have been lining the street stage since lunchtime. Crews tackle three laps of the course in reverse order and at intervals of one minute.

The route is a mixture of fast sweeps, cobbled streets, elevated sections, chicanes – there's even a railway crossing and a trip through a bus station to negotiate.
IndyCar - Baltimore: Will Power is in the tyres at Turn 9, and that will be the end of the session. Tristan Vautier finishes the session on top.
NASCAR - Atlanta: This is a big weekend for champion Brad Keselowski with his Chase position not guaranteed and only two races till the cut-off, but he's made a promising start by blasting straight to the top in practice.

Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch are next up.
Kurt Busch and Gene Haas

Kurt Busch and Gene Haas

NASCAR - Atlanta: Speaking of Kurt Busch, he was confirmed as a Stewart-Haas driver for 2014 earlier this week.

That means the team is expanding to four cars... something co-owner Tony Stewart had said wouldn't happen as early as next year.

But with Stewart out of action with a broken leg, it seems his partner Gene Haas decided not to hang around...

Ryan Newman, the man ditched by Stewart-Haas to make way for its other 2014 newcomer Kevin Harvick, has described the situation as "humourous".
WEC - Interlagos: Audi is on top in FP2. Kristensen is fastest on a 1m21.904s, with Fassler half a second behind in second. Mind you, Davidson's first session best for Toyota is still the fastest time of the day. So far.
ERC - Zlin: As well as following the stages unfold as they happen on Race Centre Live and reading the news reports, you can also watch video highlights from the European Rally Championship on our rallying page.
NASCAR - Atlanta: Our first interruption of the day as JJ Yeley slaps the wall and brings out a caution.
IndyCar - Baltimore: Here's the full story of and complete results from Friday afternoon practice in Baltimore, including some spills and a surprise pacesetter.

Baltimore IndyCar practice two report
WEC - Interlagos: Lotterer improves the #1 Audi's best time to a 1m22.056s, less than two tenths behind Kristensen's session-topping mark.
NASCAR - Atlanta: Just over a quarter of an hour to go in Friday practice at Atlanta and it's still Brad Keselowski fastest ahead of Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch.
WEC - Interlagos: It's Audi, Audi, Toyota at the top of the times of FP, Kristensen's 1m21.904s leaving him two tenths clear of Lotterer. Buemi improves in the Toyota near the end, but is still seven tenths off.
ERC - Zlin: Jiri Vrkoslav currently leads the superspecial as AUTOSPORT Race Centre Live clocks off for the night.
We'll be back from 9.30am BST/8.30am GMT on Saturday morning, ready for all the action from MotoGP qualifying day at Silverstone, a full day of ERC stages from Zlin, plus Sebastien Loeb's arrival in European Rallycross at Loheac and IndyCar in Baltimore, Auto GP and Superstars sharing a Donington Park bill and more from the WEC at Interlagos.
WEC - Interlagos: Conway ends up fastest in P2 for G-Drive/Delta-ADR, eclipsing Pla's best from the opening session. Morgan is still up there, though, with the #35 car in second place.

Aston again leads the way in GTE Pro, with Mucke heading Bell, deputising for Fred Makowiecki here, by four tenths.
Good morning and welcome back to AUTOSPORT Race Centre Live on Saturday morning August 31.
We're kicking off straight away with MotoGP practice three at Silverstone imminent and news from the first full loop of Rally Zlin stages.
MotoGP - Silverstone: We've got another glorious morning at Silverstone, which isn't exactly typical - every rider in last night's media scrums remarked how they were having to adapt to riding at Silverstone in warm conditions (not that they were complaining).
MotoGP - Silverstone: Overnight we also had news that Andrea Iannone has been issued one penalty point for blocking Andrea Dovizioso in an 'irresponsible manner' during QP2 at Brno.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Qualifying at Silverstone kicks off at 1410 BST, immediately after the fourth and final practice session.

Before that of course we have third practice, which has just got underway to a rumble of MotoGP engines underneath the media centre. Jorge Lorenzo's 2m02.734s remains the time to beat so far this weekend.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Oh dear. Crutchlow is down early on going into Maggotts, and its a big one. The bike is destroyed, but it appears Crutchlow is OK - he's walking away at least, although he's holding his left arm gingerly.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Crutchlow is no stranger to crashes at Silverstone of course. He crashed out in 2011 and was unable to compete, and then broke his ankle in a practice shunt last year - although he withstood the pain to charge from the back of the grid to sixth.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Lorenzo and Marquez meanwhile are up to speed - the former goes top before being deposed by Marquez, who sets a 2m02.982s. Ominous stuff.
MotoGP - Silverstone: Another British crasher. Michael Laverty is down heading coming out of Abbey and into the Arena complex. He looks OK.
MotoGP - Silverstone: We have a new weekend best. Stefan Bradl dips below Lorenzo's best, setting a 2m02.673s.
ERC

ERC

ERC - Zlin: There was an abundance of women at the ceremonial start in Zlin yesterday, in various 'glamour' states including police uniforms and body paint.

Ladies' Trophy competitor Martina Danhelova provided some balance with her umbrella holders...
MotoGP - Silverstone: Not to be outdone, Marquez comes round in a 2m02.485s. That comes seconds after Lorenzo had reclaimed top spot with a 2m02.654s.
ERC - Zlin: Out on the stages, local hero and championship leader Jan Kopecky has made a dominant start.

We've had two stages already this morning and Kopecky quickly opened up a 15-second lead. He's just completed the loop with another rapid time.
MotoGP - Silverstone: You can almost hear the collective sigh of relief. Crutchlow has been given the all-clear by the medical centre, and is set to rejoin the session shortly.
ERC - Zlin: Skoda is going all-out to win at home (again). It's brought in its WRC2 drivers Sepp Wiegand and Esapekka Lappi to give Kopecky some back-up, if he needs it, and aim for a podium sweep.

But the young guns lack local experience on the fast, narrow and bumpy Zlin roads, and are currently having to battle hard with local aces like Vaclav Pech, Roman Kresta (once a works Ford WRC driver), Jaromir Tarabus and Tomas Kostka.
