Vinales gets Yamaha back on top with crushing win

Vinales does the same with his win.
Marquez dedicates his podium to the friends and family of Afridza Munandar.
Another record confirmed for Marquez. He is the first rider to score 17 podiums in a single MotoGP season.
It's quite a change in mood from Quartararo. A few rounds ago, a result like that he would have taken on the chin. But it's clear he's now seriously seeing himself as someone who can win in MotoGP.
Shake of the head from Quartararo. What a difference 24 hours makes.

Marquez's second also means Repsol Honda is just two points behind Ducati in the battle for the teams' title heading to the finale in Valencia.
That is Marquez's 22nd successive finish inside the top two, and it nets him the record for most points scored in a single season with 395.
Dovizioso holds onto third from Rossi and Rins. Morbidelli is a disappointing sixth ahead of Quartararo, after the pair started on the front row. Miller, Petrucci, Mir, Pol Espargaro, Bagnaia, Aleix Espargaro, Lorenzo, Kallio, Syahrin and Abraham complete the field.
Checkered flag
Maverick Vinales eases to victory at Sepang! It's his second win of the year. Marc Marquez sensationally finishes second from 11th on the grid.
We are onto the last lap. Vinales 3.5s clear of Marquez. Dovizioso just about holding third. Rossi coming under big pressure from Rins.
Information
Long lap penalty for Mir for his collision with Zarco.
Information
Mir/Zarco incident is under investigation.
Crash
Replay of Zarco incident shows he was hit by Mir, who was coming up the inside of Turn 14.
That's cruel in the extreme for Zarco. He's been brilliant all weekend and was on for a solid result. But, crash aside, he's certainly made a statement this race.
Quartararo ran off at Turn 1. That's his hopes of seventh over.
Crash
Zarco has crashed at Turn 14.
Rins takes Rossi at Turn 15 as the Yamaha tried to overtake Dovizioso at the last corner and ran wide.
Quartararo tried to pull a move on Morbidelli, but runs too hot into Turn 9.
Lorenzo has found his way into the points in 15th ahead of Kallio, home hero Syahrin and Abraham.
Vinales's lead is down a few tenths to 2.4s with five laps to go. Nothing to worry about, though. He's now in cruise control.
Crash
Crutchlow has gone down at the last corner. Front-end washed out from under him.
Zarco hasn't been able to clear Miller again with six laps to go, and this scrap is letting Petrucci and Mir to close in.
Rins is reeling in Rossi now, despite running with half an aero package.
Zarco has now taken eighth from Miller at Turn 15, but is repelled into the first corner.
Something has flown off of Miller's bike at Turn 1 last time around. Looks like a bit of bodywork.
Dovizioso has pulled a few bike lengths on Rossi. Meanwhile, Quartararo has finally found a way through on Miller for seventh.
At the front, Marquez has waved the white flag. Vinales is 2.8s clear with seven laps to go.
Rossi went for the dive on Dovizioso at Turn 9, but ran too wide. This is just giving Rins an opportunity to close in on the podium. That Suzuki is great on tyre life.
Crash
Iannone has crashed out at Turn 9.
Further down, Quartararo hasn't been able to find a way past Miller. You have to wonder if there is perhaps a tyre issue or a bike issue he's facing.
Dovizioso is on the soft front tyre. He may well run into problems with that soon.
Half distance and everything has just quietened down a bit. Rossi and Dovizioso is the most interesting battle at the moment, though the Ducati rider does look to have the measure of the Yamaha for now.
Zarco, in ninth, is lapping a second a lap quicker than Jorge Lorenzo in 18th. You have to wonder how much longer HRC is going to let this continue.
Vinales is extending his lead again. He's now 1.7s clear of Marquez. 10 laps to go at Sepang.
Morbidelli comes through on Miller at Turn 1. That's sixth for the SRT rider. Miller really struggling with that soft front tyre now.
Rossi does need to get the move done early in the lap to mitigate any power advantage the Ducati will unleash on the straights.
Rossi is closing in on Dovizioso. Third is not out of the question here for the Yamaha.
