IndyCar - Iowa: First restart was waved off because there was still a truck on the track. We're back underway now though, and Carpenter has passed Power to reclaim second.
Crash
NASCAR - Sonoma: Ah, second shunt already: Montoya clashes with Kyle Busch and pushes him into a spin as they battle for eighth.
Montoya was passing Joey Logano and slid into Busch too. Both keep going, back in 15th and 27th.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Everyone who had a pre-race drama got patched up and sent out again.
Villeneuve has made it up to 36th, while Labonte joined in with a fresh radiator and oil cooler but has now parked in an escape road.
First shunt is David Stremme punting David Ragan around. No yellow.

IndyCar - Iowa: Hunter-Reay's damage was the result of contact with the rear of Graham Rahals' car. Restart next time around.
NASCAR - Sonoma: First lap down with no damage. Ambrose pulls out a one-second lead over McMurray, while Montoya - the man many expected to be head-to-head for the lead with Ambrose - has moved up from his disappointing 13th on the grid to 10th.
IndyCar - Iowa: There have been a couple of position changes up the front during that stop, mostly due to Kanaan's problem. Hinchliffe still leads but Power has reclaimed second from Carpenter. Andretti and Servia round out the top five.
Corn Quick Fact: An ear of corn averages about 800 kernels in 16 rows.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Away we go, Ambrose squeezes past McMurray and into the lead by Turn 3.
Yellow flag
IndyCar - Iowa: There goes that lead. The yellows are out for debris. We haven't seen what happened yet but there's damage to Ryan Hunter-Reay's front wing. Pretty much everyone stopped under yellows. Tony Kanaan had a slow stop and has dropped back to ninth.
NASCAR - Sonoma: View from pit crews is that Labonte's JTG Daugherty Toyota is to blame for the fluid spill. Still no start.
IndyCar - Iowa: How's this for a lesson in clearing lapped traffic: 10 laps ago, Hinchcliffe's lead was 1.5s. A few lapped cars later, it's blown out to 5.0s.
NASCAR - Sonoma: Slight delay to the start while the pitlane is cleaned up following a fluid spill from either one of the failed cars or one of the mangled ones.
Jacques Villeneuve's car is also in the pitlane while the Phoenix car try to resolve his gearshift issue.
And out on track, drizzle still falling.

IndyCar - Iowa: James Jakes has just become the first driver to be lapped. The Brit was quick before crashing in his heat race yesterday. He's in the back-up car today.
Up at the front it's still James Hinchcliffe leading from Will Power, who is under pressure from Ed Carpenter and Tony Kanaan.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Some pre-race comedy - Paulie Harraka ploughs into fellow debutant Alex Kennedy as the cars leave the pitlane. Heavy damage to Harraka's Go Green car. 'Start and park' taken to a new extreme there.
Also in trouble is Bobby Labonte, pitting with a radiator issue, while Jacques Villeneuve is reporting gearshift issues over the radio.
One more pace lap to go.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Drivers reported very rapid tyre wear in practice (it all sounded rather F1-esque actually), but today's conditions are significantly cooler today.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Road courses mean road course 'ringers'.
Old favourites and Chevy veterans Boris Said and Ron Fellows are out for FAS Lane and Circle Sport respectively, but the highest-qualifying interloper was 1997 Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve in 22nd for Phoenix Racing.
On his last NASCAR appearance in Nationwide at Road America last year, Villeneuve famously punted Danica Patrick off the road on the final lap. She starts 31st today.
Green flag
IndyCar - Iowa: Green flag! It's a clean start, and James Hinchcliffe has jumped Will Power for the lead.
NASCAR - Sonoma: As it's our first Cup road course race of the season, fancy a rundown of which current drivers have won on road courses in Cup the past?
Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Juan Pablo Montoya, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Clint Bowyer, Marcos Ambrose.
All except Ambrose (a double winner at Watkins Glen) have got at least one win at the-track-formerly-known-as-Sears-Point.

IndyCar - Iowa: What with this race being the Iowa Corn 250, your Iowa correspondent has just been handed a press release containing 'Corn Quick Facts'. If we have any yellows, prepare to learn something.
NASCAR - Sonoma: 'Start your engines' is roared by Darrell Waltrip and a fan.
IndyCar - Iowa: Slight delay to the start here due to a last-minute track repair, but the command to start engines is being given as I type this.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Furniture Row Racing's view: "A little rock in that National Anthem"
That's what it was then. Rock.

NASCAR - Sonoma: It's national anthem time. And it's being delivered with typical... passion... by James Durbin, who finished fourth on series 10 of American Idol.
Even by pre-NASCAR-race national anthem rendition standards, this is pretty... emphatic.
He's adjusted his look since the picture for his Wikipedia page was taken, it turns out. Less pirate these days.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Light rain is falling...
IndyCar - Iowa: A host of engine change penalties mean the starting grid looks a bit different to the line-up set by Saturday night's heat races.
Erstwhile polesitter Helio Castroneves was among those demoted. Here's how they'll start:
1 Power; 2 Hinchcliffe; 3 Andretti; 4 Carpenter; 5 Kanaan; 6 Rahal; 7 Servia; 8 Pagenaud; 9 Tagliani; 10 Wilson; 11 Castroneves; 12 Hunter-Reay; 13 Vautier; 14 Kimball; 15 Dixon; 16 Viso; 17 Sato; 18 Saavedra; 19 Bourdais; 20 de Silvestro; 21 Franchitti; 22 Newgarden; 23 Beatriz; 24 Jakes.

NASCAR - Sonoma: Polesitter Jamie McMurray on why late-race restarts on the road courses are always hair-raising: "There's always a guy 10 rows back who still thinks he can win"

IndyCar - Iowa: Here's a lucky charm on Tony Kanaan's car as it prepares to go through tech earlier on..
IndyCar - Iowa: The rain has cleared, the track is dry, the national anthem has been sung, and the command to start engines is coming shortly.
NASCAR - Sonoma: The command to start engines isn't far away at a cloudy Sonoma.
Two changes to the grid officially: Brian Vickers moves to the back because Jason Bowles qualified his Waltrip Toyota while Vickers was racing in Nationwide at Road America, and Victor Gonzalez Jr has switched to a back-up car.
That doesn't make any difference though as the reason Gonzalez needed a spare car was because he crashed in qualifying, so he was last anyway.

BTCC - Croft: Well that was a heart-stopper in the end, those scares for Neal on the last lap mean his three-second lead became just 0.6s as he fends off Turkington across the line.
BTCC - Croft: Neal runs wide at Tower on the very last lap at Tower, and then has a very big slide. Now Turkington is much closer...
BTCC - Croft: Three laps to go and the Neal, Turkington, Jordan train are holding station up front, despite Jordan having a brush with the grass at Tower.
Shedden is catching Newsham for fourth, Collard has spun down to the midfield, and the MGs of Plato and Tordoff are up to seventh and ninth.

BTCC - Croft: This should be a fairly straightforward Jack Sears Trophy win for Lea Wood - every other S2000 car has crashed.
BTCC - Croft: Neal, Turkington and Jordan are running within 1.6s of each other in first to third places, but their lap times are virtually identical. Six laps to go.
They've left the rest of the pack 6s behind.

BTCC - Croft: Morgan is out. He repeats his practice crash and slides straight into the Clervaux barriers. No safety car at present.
Neal and Turkington remain 1.1s apart, while Jordan has tip-toed right around the outside of Foster into third, with Newsham following him through.
Plato is up to 10th.

BTCC - Croft: Turkington gets past Neal too, the gap is 1.1s from Neal to his BMW pursuer. Jordan is next in line to attack Foster, with Newsham sniffing around too.
