Felix Rosenqvist

F3 - Macau GP: This is always a tricky start for the poleman, with ample opportunity for the pack behind to draft them on the long run to Lisboa, and yesterday Rosenqvist rapidly lost his advantage.

But he did fight back to win, and here's a reminder of how it happened:

Davidson and Buemi finish 11th but are world champions

Class winners:
LMP2: #47 KCMG ORECA-Nissan
GTE Pro: #51 AF Corse Ferrari
GTE Am: #95 Aston Martin
WRC - GB - SS17 results:

Stage times:

1 Latvala 11m50.6s
2 Mikkelsen +0.8s
3 Meeke +2.7s
4 Hirvonen +3.8s
5 Ogier +5.0s
6 Evans +5.7s

Overall leaderboard:

1 Ogier
2 Hirvonen +58.1s
3 Meeke +1m01.5s
4 Ostberg +1m41.2s
5 Neuville +1m44.5s
6 Evans +1m52.4s
7 Tanak +2m33.3s
8 Latvala +3m28.1s
9 Solberg +3m37.4s
10 Prokop +3m54.5s
WEC - Bahrain: Congratulations to Sebastien Buemi and Anthony Davidson as the new world champions - and to Wurz, Conway and Sarrazin for their first win of the season.

Bruni and Vilander won the GTE class and claimed the GT drivers' title.
WRC - GB: Another calm stage for Ogier keeps him 58s lead ahead going into the final day.
WRC - GB: Latvala is fastest of all so far and that takes him past Solberg for eighth.

"It's been frustrating because I completely lost motivation when I had the problem, and it took some time to come back," Latvala admits.

"Now in the dark on Dyfnant, I got my confidence back. Now I'm back in the mood."
WRC - GB: Meeke outpaces Hirvonen by 1.1s on that stage, so the gap is 3.4s going into Sunday.

"I really enjoyed that. That's as good as it gets," Meeke declares.

Hirvonen's verdict:

"It is really fantastic. Mads was a bit unlucky but it's going to be quite an interesting day tomorrow. We will see. Everything is possible.

"I don't have anything to lose. It's my last race and I'm going to go for it."
WRC - GB: Ostberg says after the SS16 tyre problem he had to take it carefully as he only had one spare and knew finishing was a priority to make sure Citroen keeps second in the championship.
NASCAR - Homestead - Saturday morning practice results:

1 Kevin Harvick
2 Jeff Gordon
3 Brad Keselowski
4 Jimmie Johnson
5 Denny Hamlin
6 Joey Logano
(12 Ryan Newman)
WRC - GB: Neuville completes the stage and says his incident on the previous one was because he forgot his Hyundai was a bit bigger with light pods attached and smacked them on the scenery.

And he couldn't quite fix the problem between stages either.

"There was not much time when we tried. I was able to see the road, but not in the best condition.

"We are here and we didn't lose too much time."

Ostberg is slightly and is now 3s ahead of Neuville in fourth.
WEC - Bahrain: Turner's pursuit of Bruni for GTE honours looks like it is not going to be successful. He is 6.8s down with only seven minutes to go.
WEC - Bahrain: Hot oil is being poured into the SMP car and Minassian is climbing back aboard. Some points would keep Zlobin right in the title hunt going into Interlagos.
WRC - GB: Meeke is again coming back at Hirvonen for second on the initial splits.
WEC - Bahrain: Further calculation suggests that Wurz will not have to stop again. He's 47s up the road from Jani and therefore on course for a first victory of the season together with Conway and Sarrazin.
WRC - GB: Tanak is 10s slower than Mikkelsen in fourth on the stage so far, and says he had a major moment after his co-driver called a note a bit late.

Evans now completes the stage second fastest. He's got a shot at Ostberg and Neuville in fourth and fifth after their SS16 problems.
WEC - Bahrain: Minassian appears to have retired the lead SMP car from second in P2 with minutes to go. The car was smoking heavily and has been taken into the garage.
WRC - GB: Kubica completes Saturday.

"We can be happy that on a difficult day we've got through without any incidents," he says.

He's only had one trouble-free rally this year, but let's not speak too soon about this one - rather a lot of his incidents have come on Sundays.

He's now losing touch with Paddon but both are closing on Prokop for 10th.
WEC - Bahrain: Jani makes it out just in front of team-mate Webber, whose old rubber means he cannot respond.
WEC - Bahrain: Jani has stopped for the final time with 20 minutes to go. His pit-in to pit-out time was 39s. Let's see how long Wurz stops for.
WRC - GB: Hanninen explains that his late arrival on the stage was due to problems with the Hyundai's extra lights.
WRC - GB: Mikkelsen confirms that he didn't get the working intercom back all afternoon, but luckily knows the stages pretty well.
WRC - GB: Mikkelsen comes through to set an 11m54s benchmark in the dark of Dyfnant. Hanninen will be next but was a minute late starting.
WEC - Bahrain: Wurz has extended his lead to 4.2s and it's likely that the Toyota is going to need less fuel than the Porsche at its final pitstop.
Sam MacLeod

Sam MacLeod

F3 - Macau GP: Another award we're going to give out is that for Macau 'baptism of fire'.

We're going to name the recipient this time: poor old Sam MacLeod has had a tough time with TOM'S.

He didn't get chance to test the car beforehand, and has hit the wall in three of the four practice and qualifying sessions, before doing the same in today's race and causing a safety car. In the other qualifying session his driveshaft broke...

It's a shame for MacLeod, but don't count against him performing respectably should he make his planned graduation to European F3 next season.
WRC - GB: The big questions on this one are now whether Meeke can come back at Hirvonen, what happens in the suddenly close Ostberg/Neuville/Evans fight for fourth, and whether Latvala makes any more progress.
WEC - Bahrain: Wurz leads Jani by 2.1s and they've both got to stop again. This race might be close, after all.
WRC - GB: Dyfnant is just about to begin. It's very, very dark.

This is how Latvala described the stage for us earlier:

"This is one of the stages which is sometimes difficult to remember.

"There are a lot of different sections with not so many straights and quite a few junctions – but I like it because if you are confident on that stage you can really make a good time.

"Normally the time differences can be quite big here – this stage is all about how well you have made the notes."

Even more so in the dark!
WEC - Bahrain: Webber has stopped with 45 minutes to go and doesn't take on new tyres. That's the first time that a factory P1 has double stinted.
NASCAR - Homestead: Practice is under way for tomorrow's final showdown, and early on it's Kevin Harvick setting the pace ahead of poleman Jeff Gordon.

Harvick's title rivals Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Ryan Newman are fifth, sixth and 12th respectively.
Bumper cars

Bumper cars

WRC - GB: This is the way to sort the battle for second... a bumper car battle where last man standing takes the position.

These cars have come in for some punishment in the last couple of days.
WRC - GB:

SS16 summary:

* Hirvonen consolidates gap to Meeke in battle for second
* Neuville smacks something and damages his lights on the very dark stage
* Ostberg loses time with a tyre problem
* Solberg loses time with a puncture
* Latvala finally gains a place
WRC - GB - SS16 results:

Stage times:

1 Mikkelsen 7m48.2s
2 Hirvonen +3.6s
3 Latvala +3.9s
4 Meeke +4.8s
5 Tanak +5.1s
6 Paddon +6.5s

Overall leaderboard:

1 Ogier
2 Hirvonen +59.3s
3 Meeke +1m03.8s
4 Ostberg +1m34.8s
5 Neuville +1m36.7s
6 Evans +1m51.7s
7 Tanak +2m27.5s
8 Solberg +3m23.0s
9 Latvala +3m33.1s
10 Prokop +3m38.6s
WRC - GB: Latvala's step up in speed has taken him past Prokop into ninth, and he now has Solberg 10s ahead after the Norwegian's puncture.
WRC - GB: Mikkelsen hangs onto the stage win, despite having no intercom. He did at least have a bit more daylight than those running later.
WRC - GB: So Hirvonen is now 4.5s ahead of Meeke for second, and it's fourth, fifth and sixth that have closed right up - Ostberg is only 1.9s ahead of Neuville now, and Evans is a further 15s back.
