As far as I’m aware this stage has never been used before. It’s quite wide and fast – which is not that characteristic of these Spanish gravel stages. And it will clean, there’s a fair bit of loose gravel on the top here.

World rally champion Sebastien Ogier got his weekend off to the perfect start on the streets of Barcelona yesterday, the Frenchman finished the stage 2.1s clear of under-pressure Thierry Neuville.
