Joey Logano takes Martinsville NASCAR pole 2015

Moto2 - Qatar: Luthi bundles Zarco down to fourth. It looks like a gearshift problem for the long-time race leader.

Folger is onto his final lap, and Zarco plunges to eighth as Rins, Morbidelli, Cortese and Kallio breeze past him. What heartbreak.

Moto2 - Qatar: Zarco is now down to third behind Folger and Simeon, with the next group catching him - and Rins is hacking through that pack, he's fifth behind Luthi.

NASCAR - Martinsville: Here’s a quick rundown of some themes to watch out for in today’s race:

-Joey Logano is on pole and in great form. He’s been in the top 10 at every race so far this year and won last night’s truck series race.

-Kyle Larson misses today’s race after being taken to hospital yesterday. Regan Smith will take over the Ganassi Chevrolet.

-Kevin Harvick has finished in the top two for eight straight races, the first person to do so since NASCAR’s ‘King’ Richard Petty.

-Harvick’s Stewart-Haas team-mate Kurt Busch has come extremely close to victory in the last two races after returning from a three week suspension.

-Jimmie Johnson has eight wins at Martinsville, to go along with 18 top fives and 22 top 10s in 26 starts. Hendrick Motorsports – the team Johnson drives for – has 22 wins at the track, the most a team has at any single track on the calendar.

-Chase Elliott makes his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut in a fifth Hendrick car. He is due to replace the retiring Jeff Gordon next year and embarks on the first of a five race season in the #25 car.

Moto2 - Qatar: A replay shows what happened to Zarco - something seemed to go wrong with his bike out of the final corner and he bent backwards to look at the rear to try to figure it out.

As he did so, he slewed wildly across the pits straight and nearly slammed into the pitwall, ending up on the narrow strip of grass between the track and pitwall.

NASCAR - Martinsville: The NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Martinsville is coming up and promises to be an absolute cracker.

It's always furious racing at the 0.5 mile 'paperclip' and never fails to produce excellent racing, as well as one of motorsport's strangest trophies, a Grandfather Clock no less.

Moto2 - Qatar: Sudden drama! Zarco slows and Folger is into the lead with three laps left.

Moto2 - Qatar: Six laps left and the relentless Zarco is still 4.2s ahead of Folger, who is now 2.4s clear of Simeon.

Morbidelli has just lost fourth to Cortese, then takes it back again, with Luthi and Kallio on their tail and Rins catching fast. Great debut for Rins.

Marquez is back to 12th after having to repass Syahrin. They've both caught Lorenzo Baldassarri, Louis Rossi and Cardus to make a five-bike battle for ninth.

Moto2 - Qatar: Cortese takes fourth from Morbidelli and gives his bike a little pat on the rear to say thanks for its slipstreaming prowess as he completes the move. Or something like that.

Moto2 - Qatar: Folger is getting away from Simeon for second, so we now need to look back to fourth for entertainment. Fair amount of side by side stuff from Morbidelli, Cortese, Tom Luthi and Kallio there.

Moto2 - Qatar: Zarco is keeping his lead over Folger and Simeon at a steady four seconds.

This would be Zarco's first win in Moto2 if he keeps it together for the remaining 13 laps.

He was runner-up to Nico Terol in 125cc in 2011 and has been in Moto2 ever since, switching from JIR to Ioda and then to Caterham's shortlived motorcycle racing team for last year, taking a few podiums and looking quick at times along the way.

But now he's come 'home' to Ajo Motorsport - the crack Moto3 team that ran him in 125cc and is stepping up to Moto2 this season. Winning on its debut would be a massive statement of intent for Aki Ajo's squad.

While a Moto3 graduate team dominates, the Moto3 graduate riders are inching forwards: Rins is now ninth and pushing Ricky Cardus for eighth, Marquez is 13th.

And now Marquez zips past Malaysian rider Hafizh Syahrin for 12th. Not to be outdone, Rins gets Cardus too.

Moto2 - Qatar: After all those crashes, Rins has made his way up to 10th, with Marquez 14th.

Kallio's having a good night too - up from 16th to sixth and not far behind Morbidelli and Simone Corsi.

Moto2 - Qatar: A furious Lowes has made his way back to the pits to retire.

Fastest throughout practice, on pole, but out of the race after his own mistake within four laps - a really sad end to a hugely promising weekend for Lowes.

His exit means Zarco already has a comfortable 4.4s lead over Folger and Simeon.

Moto2 - Qatar: Lowes is tucking himself in behind Zarco and just stalking him for now.

Folger is clear into third as Morbidelli gets his hands full with Xavier Simeon.

Rabat isn't making any progress from eighth yet and Marquez has slipped to 18th, just ahead of Rins.

Moto2 - Qatar: Zarco drafts past Lowes to take the lead on the pits straight, Lowes retakes it under braking for Turn 1, but Zarco has it back on the exit.

Three lead changes in a few seconds - that's more like it Moto2 after your muted 2014 season.

Jonas Folger and Franco Morbidelli are scrapping hard over third, while Rabat has regained momentum in eighth. He's just ahead of his 2014 title rival Mika Kallio, now with the Italtrans team, who has shot forward from a poor grid slot.

Marquez has fallen to 15th, but he's fared better than Rins, who has tumbled to 20th.

Moto2 - Qatar: British rider Sam Lowes showed a lot of promise last year after coming across as World Supersport champion, but often his best runs ended in crashes.

He crashed yesterday too - but only after taking pole and being fastest throughout practice.

His main rival all weekend has been Frenchman Johann Zarco, with Rabat joining the pair on the front row.

There's a lot of attention on Moto3 champion Alex Marquez, and not just because he's Marc's little brother. He's Rabat's team-mate at Marc VDS and he starts 12th for his debut.

Interestingly that's three places behind his erstwhile Moto3 team-mate Alex Rins - who was typed as Spain's next mega-talent until Marquez Jr stole a little of his thunder.

Moto2 - Qatar: Next up, time for the intermediate class: Moto2.

It became a bit flat last year as Tito Rabat took what was ultimately a fairly dominant title for an unstoppable Marc VDS team.

But this year it already looks far more open.

Moto2, Qatar 2015

We'll have coverage of Moto2 - where Brit Sam Lowes is on pole and Marc Marquez's Moto3 champion younger brother is making his series debut - shortly.

Moto3 - Qatar: Kent completes the podium and Quartararo found himself back in seventh, although there's a video review over that one as McPhee, Vinales, Quartararo and Antonelli went across the line four abreast covered by 0.08s.

Moto3 - Qatar: Masbou has brought himself through the middle of all that into third as Bastianini takes the lead.

Moto3 - Qatar: Bastianini is all over Vazquez for the lead as Quartararo forces Bagnaia wide, but delays himself in the process too.

Moto3 - Qatar: Vazquez drafts past Quartararo, who then gets swamped by Bastianini and Bagnaia too.

Moto3 - Qatar: Quartararo slices past Vazquez to lead again with a lap and a half left.

Moto3 - Qatar: Quartararo retakes second as Vazquez hits the front again.

This last lap is going to be glorious...

Moto3 - Qatar: Bit of a favour for Quartararo as Vazquez and Bastianini battle behind him, but then they both draft past him on the straight.

Bastianini makes it into Turn 1 first. Two laps left.

Moto3 - Qatar: Let's just underline again that Quartararo is a world championship rookie (the only one in the top 20), he's 15 years old - and he's now leading this race with two and a half laps to go!

Moto3 - Qatar: Bagnaia has a few exchanges with veteran Vazquez and gets himself back ahead, runs wildly wide over the dusty kerbs and somehow stays in the lead.

Not for long though, with all that momentum lost he's an easy target on the main straight and Vazquez is back through.

Just three laps to go now, and Quartararo is moving himself back into contention, he's up to fourth between Bastianini and Kent.

Moto3 - Qatar: Kent's still leading, but the 'huge' gap has gone and he has Bagnaia on his tail.

Bagnaia was part of Rossi's team last year but was dropped. He's hooked up with Aspar's Mahindra project now and it's going pretty well...

...though now Bastianini is through past both to take the lead.

Like countryman Bagnaia, Bastianini is riding for a squad with a MotoGP arm, in Gresini. And like Aspar, Gresini is having a much better time at junior level than it is in the top class...

Moto3 - Qatar: Kent's pulled himself a massive-for-Moto3 lead of 0.355s now.

He's riding for the 'new' Leopard Racing team, which is run by the Kiefer squad that took Stefan Bradl to the 2011 Moto2 title (ahead of someone called Marc Marquez).

Moto3 - Qatar: Kent drafts into the lead. We're past half-distance and the Brit leads Binder, Bagnaia and Bastianini.

Young Belgian Loi is latest to fall. We're down to 'only' 16 bikes fighting for the lead.
