It was another tense qualifying segment in MotoGP. Sunday's race is set up to be absolutely breathtaking.

Marc Marquez's difficult weekend has failed to improve. He'll launch from the back of the second row in sixth. You get the feeling Mugello has been earmarked as a damage limitation race for the Honda rider now.
You've also got to feel for Petrucci. The Italian was staring down a maiden front row start in front of his home crowd, but that's the way racing goes sometimes.
Some big shocks in that session. Zarco outside of the top 10 for the first time since Austin.

That is it, Vinales is on pole for the third time this season from Rossi and Dovizioso.

Pirro heads row two from Pedrosa and Marquez. Lorenzo heads row three from Bautista and Petrucci. Rabat, Zarco and Aleix Espargaro complete the top 12.

Chequered flag is out and Vinales takes pole in Italy with a 1m46.575s. Petrucci had his lap time cancelled and is back to ninth, which promotes Rossi to second.
Rossi goes third now. Marquez and Lorenzo pushed back to 10th and 11th.
Petrucci back up to second, which pushes Dovizioso back to third.

Vinales goes fastest now with a massively quick 1m46.575s, so very nearly a lap record.

A flurry of laps coming in now, Bautista taking top spot away from Pedrosa with a 1m47.167s.
Everyone is on track now for their final flying laps. 1.1s covers the top 11. Petrucci still top.
Lorenzo posts a 1m47.352s and goes third fastest with just over five minutes to go.
With six minutes to go, Petrucci leads Vinales, Marquez, Pedrosa, Rossi, Pirro, Bautista, Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Zarco and Rabat. Aleix Espargaro is yet to set a time, but has headed back out on his second bike.
Petrucci is back in the pits. He is still fastest from Vinales and Marquez, with Pedrosa not far off in fourth ahead of home hero Rossi.

Petrucci back on top with a 1m47.266s. This is impressive from the Italian who suffered two crashes this morning.

Lorenzo is back in the box for the first of two soft rear tyres. Currently, the Spaniard is sixth quickest. Marquez takes over at the top with a 1m47.417s.

Crash for Aprilia's Espargaro at Turn 9 - that's where Vinales crashed in FP2 on Friday.

Ducati wildcard Pirro sets the early pace with a 1m47.564s, ahead of Marquez, Lorenzo and Rabat.
Everyone has taken to the 5.2km Mugello circuit.

Marquez ran with the medium front tyre throughout FP4, but has opted for the hard option for his first laps in Q2.

One rider to watch for this afternoon is Andrea Dovizioso, who was tipped by former team-mate Cal Crutchlow on Friday as the man to beat come Sunday.

Interesting bit of info from MotoGP television. Rossi's number one bike is not quite ready after his FP4 fall, but he actually feels happier on his other bike.
And Suzuki's tough start to 2017 has continued, with Iannone set to start 16th. The former Ducati rider said after Friday's practice sessions that he's lost 3kg so far this weekend with a stomach bug.
Despite his earlier tumble, Rossi looks relaxed in his pit box as one of the biggest qualifying sessions of his season looms.
Crutchlow was visibly frustrated when he returned to the LCR Honda garage. He set the pace yesterday, but crashed on his outlap in third practice this morning and then fell out of the top 10 on the combined order. He won't be happy starting 13th.
