Marquez is starting on pole here for the fourth-straight year, and he has a pair of wins in Argentina, including last year in that flag-to-flag race after the battle with Rossi in the first half.

And what of his former team-mate Jorge Lorenzo? He will start 16th on his Ducati, four spots behind team-mate Andrea Dovizioso. But he does believe a seating-position change made yesterday will help: 
Rossi is, though, still struggling with the front end of the 2017 Yamaha. He declared after Friday practice in the dry that he was "in big, big trouble", but you would never rule him out on a Sunday afternoon.
Vinales, who won on his Yamaha debut in Qatar, will start sixth, one spot ahead of team-mate Valentino Rossi. This is, of course, Rossi's 350th grand prix start.

It was a huge effort by Karel Abraham to qualify second on his 2015-spec Aspar Ducati, in just his second event back in MotoGP. Could he influence the early stages of the race with the Ducati's power? Maverick Vinales thinks yes:

In Moto2, Franco Morbidelli continued his perfect start to the campaign, winning to go with his Qatar victory. Morbidelli controlled the race, running ahead of Marc VDS team-mate Alex Marquez. While Marquez closed to within half-a-second, he had a highside getting on the power at Turn 7 on the last lap, crashing and handing second to polesitter Miguel Oliveira - in just KTM's second Moto2 start - and third to Thomas Luthi. A devastated Marquez remounted and crossed the line in 21st place.
Joan Mir came from 16th on the grid to make it back-to-back wins to start the Moto3 season. Mir established himself in the lead pack and then out front, holding off John McPhee, who passed Jorge Martin earlier on the last lap. The result was a repeat of the podium in last month’s Qatar opener.
Of course, we have already had Moto3 and Moto2 races today.
The start of the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit race is coming up at the top of the hour. The excellent news is that we have no threat of a repeat of the delays we had in Qatar a fortnight ago, in the season opener.
