Misano MotoGP, Kubica's home rally, Oschersleben DTM

Live Text

Sort by
DTM - Oschersleben: Rockenfeller goes by Priaulx for fifth, the Brit obeying blue flags to let him by.

Quite why the DTM feels the need to ask drivers that are off-sequence on strategy to move out of the way for others - that they are fighting for position - is anybody's guess.
MotoGP - Misano: Lorenzo leads from Pedrosa and Marquez. Espargaro passes Rossi, but at first glance he appeared to jump the start and might face some sort of punishment.

Deja vu at the front though, as Lorenzo sets a searing early pace ahead of the two works Hondas. The difference is that Rossi is right up with them now, having made light work of passing Espargaro.
MotoGP - Misano: Lorenzo snatches one second on that first lap. Pedrosa, Marquez and Rossi are all together, while Crutchlow has also got by Espargaro - who did indeed jump the start and will have to take a ride-through as a result.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Full report from race two is now online. Read it here.
DTM - Oschersleben: Farfus pits from the lead on lap 21 and just manages to keep the advantage from the charging Rockenfeller.

The German is right on the Brazilian's tail, and he's on the preferred option tyres while Farfus has standards for this stint.
DTM - Oschersleben: Disaster for Andy Priaulx. He may well have been on for a point in this race. Not any more as he's spun by Juncadella at Turn 2.
MotoGP - Misano: Lorenzo leads by almost three seconds at the end of lap three. Marquez starting to hound his team-mate now, while Rossi continues to lurk less than half a second down the road...and he's past Marquez and into third when the latter goes too deep into Turn 8. We have a race on our hands.

Crutchlow and Bradl keeping up with this three-way fight in fifth and sixth. Andrea Iannone meanwhile has crashed out of ninth.
DTM - Oschersleben: Timo Scheider charges down the inside of Spengler for what is now sixth place at Turn 3. Spengler made no attempt to defend, his last lap half a second slower than his rival.

Both pass Tambay, who pits from third and emerges seventh.
DTM - Oschersleben: Green pits from the lead and emerges third, behind Farfus and Albuquerque - both of whom have also stopped once.

Rockenfeller, who had been on Farfus's tail, pits for the final time on the same lap and emerges 12th.
DTM - Oschersleben: BMW responds by pitting Farfus the following lap. He rejoins behind Joey Hand in ninth, but keeps ahead of Rockenfeller.

Hand moves aside, letting his RBM BMW team-mate through and will now keep Rockenfeller behind for as long as he can (well, until the blue flags force him to move out of the way anyway).
MotoGP - Misano: Several battles to focus on, but the field is largely strung out. Lorenzo leads by almost three seconds, Rossi continues to hound Pedrosa, while Marquez has fallen one second down the road. There's nothing to choose between Crutchlow and Bradl, or between Hayden and Dovizioso in the fight for eighth. Bautista a relatively solitary seventh.
DTM - Oschersleben: In among all of that, Green is now back in the lead, but still with a stop to go.

Molina, Scheider and Tambay - who have each also stopped once - comprise an all-Audi top four.

One man that could do some damage though is Albuquerque. He's made all his stops and is only five seconds behind Farfus. A top-five finish beckons.
DTM - Oschersleben: Order after 30 of 51 laps: 1 Green; 2 Molina; 3 Scheider; 4 Tambay; 5 Wittmann; 6 Mortara; 7 Farfus; 8 Rockenfeller; 9 Hand; 10 Albuquerque.
DTM - Oschersleben: Leader Green is lapping consistently half a second quicker than Farfus and Rockenfeller, but his 25.5s advantage over the pair does not seem likely to be enough to allow him to win today.

If he had 30s in hand, it might just be doable.
MotoGP - Misano: Here comes Marquez. A new fastest lap moves him right onto Rossi's rear, with less than two tenths now to choose between them heading across the line. Pedrosa has checked Lorenzo's lead at 2.5s.
DTM - Oschersleben: Scheider passes Molina for second, which may well gain the German a top-five finish once the pitstops shake the order up.

Scheider is making use of his option rubber. He and fifth-placed Mortara are the only drivers in the top 10 on the softer Hankooks.
MotoGP - Misano: He's been strangely quiet at the start of this year, but Marquez pulls off a brilliant move on Rossi to capture third at Turn 10. The pair are one second down on Pedrosa, who is slowly - slowly - chipping away at Lorenzo's lead.
DTM - Oschersleben: In case you were wondering, Farfus's performance today is guaranteeing that the title fight will run on to Zandvoort.

Rockenfeller, incidentally, is now just shy of 30s behind Green, so the Brit might well stay ahead of him after his final stop.

Molina pits from third on lap 36/51 and rejoins behind Paffett in 10th.
DTM - Oschersleben: Scheider pits from second and rejoins ahead of Paffett in eighth.
Dani Pedrosa MotoGP 2013

Dani Pedrosa MotoGP 2013

MotoGP - Misano: Marquez's charge has brought him right onto Pedrosa's tail now, with Rossi two seconds down the road. Lorenzo still leads by 2.4s with 12 laps to go.
DTM - Oschersleben: Spengler and Wickens collide at Turn 3, the pair having been passed by Ekstrom a lap earlier.

Spengler dived down the inside pretty late and turned his countryman around. Wickens is out while Spengler is continuing without his engine cover.
MotoGP - Misano: Marquez fires it through at Turn 2. Can Pedrosa respond? His championship hopes could hinge on these final 10 laps.
DTM - Oschersleben: Green pits from the lead and rejoins in fourth place, right behind Rockenfeller.

Mortara now leads from Farfus, but the Audi man must make one final stop.
DTM - Oschersleben: Spengler, who has been given the black and orange flag, pits and pulls his car into the Schnitzer BMW garage.

Good job the 'Drive Like Bruno' logos weren't on his car today.
DTM - Oschersleben: Order on lap 41/51: 1 Mortara; 2 Farfus; 3 Rockenfeller; 4 Green; 5 Albuquerque; 6 Scheider; 7 Paffett; 8 Ekstrom; 9 Molina; 10 Tambay.
DTM - Oschersleben: Mortara pits from the lead and rejoins 10th, ahead of Werner. Not bad for a guy who was last into the opening corner.

Farfus has the lead back with Rockenfeller second. At this rate the Audi man's championship lead will be reduced to 33 points, but with Farfus now second overall.
MotoGP - Misano: Fascinating blend of styles here as Pedrosa matches Marquez over a lap - he's able to hold a tighter line in the slow stuff, but surrenders time over the quick sections. Lorenzo is beginning to look beyond reach, and now leads by three seconds.
MotoGP - Misano: Huge move from Pedrosa, who gets back into second at Turn 10 - exactly what Marquez did to Rossi. It lasts all of four turns, before Marquez dives back down the inside at Turn 14. Pedrosa has it all to do again, with six laps to go. It's all helping Lorenzo, who now leads by four seconds.
MotoGP - Misano: Has Marquez escaped? He's pulled seven tenths on Pedrosa heading into the final two laps. Does Pedrosa have anything left?
DTM - Oschersleben: The order is more or less settled now in the top six, but the battle for seventh between Ekstrom, Molina, Tambay, Mortara and Wehrlein is an entertaining one

Surely four Audis won't make a race of it with each other...
DTM - Oschersleben: Farfus wins for the second time in 2013 and vaults from fifth to second spot in the championship.

Mike Rockenfeller finishes second to lead the championship by a reduced 33 points, with Jamie Green completing the podium.
DTM - Oschersleben: Results: 1 Farfus; 2 Rockenfeller; 3 Green; 4 Albuquerque; 5 Scheider; 6 Paffett; 7 Ekstrom; 8 Molina; 9 Tambay; 10 Mortara.
ERC - Poland: Ten minutes or so until the final loop of Rally Poland gets underway. Kajetanowicz currently has a 20.6 lead over Bouffier, but the Frenchman's co-driver Xavier Panseri insists they will fight until the end.

"We are second and he (Kajetanowicz) is 20 seconds in front of us. If he has no problem it will be impossible to come back," admits Panseri. "But we will fight, we will push.

"It’s like this, this is the race. Kajetanowicz is a fast driver and the stages today are faster than yesterday in that they are better for R5 and RRC cars. But we try to the end to push. We don’t give up.”
ERC - Poland: The overall classification is currently as follows:

1 Kajetanowicz; 2 Bouffier +20.6s; 3 Kopecky +1m17.1s; 4 Solowow +1m32.9s; 5 Kosciuszko +2m07.9s.

Kajetanowicz is the man in form today, his confidence no doubt boosted by the fact he clinched his fourth Polish championship title last night.
DTM - Oschersleben: Points after 8/10 rounds: 1 Rockenfeller, 124; 2 Farfus, 91; 3 Vietoris, 71; 4 Wickens, 70; 5 Spengler, 67; 6 Paffett, 65; 7 Ekstrom, 44; 8 Wittmann, 39; 9 Green, 35; 10 Werner, 26.

MotoGP - Misano: Full report and results from the San Marino event are live here.
BTCC - Rockingham: Jordan gets a poor start from race two pole, and it's Austin who leads from Jackson, with Jordan third.
BTCC - Rockingham: Jordan loses more ground as Shedden picks him off going into Turn 1, which allows Newsham to nick through and leaves him vulnerable to the BMWs of Collard and Turkington.
