Rossi isn't improving at the moment with just under two minutes to go.
Vinales improves to a 1m37.164s so now leads Rossi by 0.207s.
Third placed Miller isn't improving - his lap is a little lairy so far.
Vinales is improving again, and Rossi is building up to his next attempt.
New bests from Vinales in all bar sector three, and he pips Rossi by 0.055s to go fastest with a 1m37.316s.
Vinales is onto his second run of the session and is going faster than Rossi's current benchmark.
Tito Rabat, Miguel Oliveira - whose new deal with KTM was confirmed this morning - and Hafizh Syahrin complete the 13 runners, with Iannone unlikely to appear in this session while he's checked for injuries.
Behind the top three it's Francesco Bagnaia, Honda wildcard Stefan Bradl, the KTMs of Pol Espargaro and Johann Zarco, then Abraham and Aprilia pair Bradley Smith and Aleix Espargaro.
Miller improves but stays third behind the Yamahas, three tenths off.
Vinales is first in with a quick time, a 1m37.378s. That puts him 1.4s clear of Karel Abraham in second for now.
Q1 is under way, and all the focus here will be on the works Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales, which have been off the pace all weekend and will have to fight to make it into the second part of qualifying.

There's a 2019 spec Ducati in here too - Jack Miller's Pramac example.
There was some drama in practice four as Aprilia's Andrea Iannone had to be taken away on a stretcher after a crash that left him tumbling through the gravel. He was conscious and moving his limbs, but appeared to be in pain as he landed and required medical help. His left ankle is understood to be the main area of concern.

Our lead MotoGP correspondent ORIOL PUIGDEMONT says Iannone is undergoing x-rays at the paddock clinic.
But you can't really begrudge Spain having a lot of MotoGP races given the country's ferocious enthusiasm for motorcycle racing and the amount of top riders it's produced - including our reigning champion Marc Marquez, who's just pipped compatriot Maverick Vinales to go fastest in practice four.
That's the Spanish Grand Prix, which is different to the Barcelona, Aragon and Valencia Grands Prix, which are also in Spain.
