IndyCar - St Petersburg: As the Lights race reaches half-distance, Jack Harvey makes a great move to seize third from Vittorio Ghirelli. Moments later, Alex Baron runs into the latter's rear on the main straight and veers into the run-off with a broken front wing. His race is probably over, although there doesn't appear to be any damage to Ghirelli's car.

NASCAR - Martinsville: Dale Inman, long-time crew chief for Petty's team during its legendary years, has given today's command to start the engines. Time for the warm-up laps - and they need to do some thorough warming up.
IndyCar - St Petersburg: Indy Lights have been given the command to start engines, and have wandered out onto the track for their installation laps. The field was set by practice times after qualifying became a casualty of yesterday's awful weather. Happily, the conditions today are much closer to what people imagine when they think of Florida.

But he's fit - and can see - again now, and is extremely fired up to win today, having been unimpressed by some of the rumours that erupted regarding why he was absent a week ago.
