Buemi speaking as man who has experienced his fair share of late heartbreak!
Clear-up continues after that crash. Fourteen laps left right now, Chilton leading from Sato, Jones, Castroneves and Hildebrand.
It took one corner for the next accident after the green flag, and the crash took out several contenders.

On the replay it's clear that Servia tips Davison into the wall after touching his rear right wheel as they battled for the inside line at Turn 1.

The pair then spun back onto the middle of the circuit, before the chaos took out Power and Newgarden as they tried to avoid the debris.
Yellow flag
Straight back to yellow again. Chilton managed to hold the lead there despite Sato and Castroneves' best effort. Castroneves dropped back to fourth behind Jones.
Crash
Big crash, Servia, Davison, Power, Newgarden and Hinchcliffe involved. Back to yellow.
Green flag
Back to green and straight to three-wide racing for the lead.
Huge applause for Alonso around Indianapolis as he steps out.
Sato was poised to take the lead from Chilton as that yellow for Alonso's blown engine came out.

What a heartbreaking and slightly ironic way for Alonso's Indy 500 dream to end.

Chilton, Jones, Castroneves and Sato are running within 0.9s for the race lead with 23 laps to go.
Alonso makes a big move on Kanaan to take seventh, nearly clipping Hildebrand in the process.

That Jones/Castroneves/Sato fight - which Servia is now joining - is letting Chilton get away a bit.
Jones is fighting back against Castroneves for second, with Sato getting involved too. Ballsy stuff from the rookie.
Hildebrand, Kanaan and Alonso drop Davison, he falls to ninth now.
Castroneves grabs second from Jones and homes in on leader Chilton.
Servia moves up to fifth, while Davison is sliding back.
Castroneves fends off Davison for third, with Sato following him through. Chilton still leads from Jones but Castroneves is marauding behind them.

Back to green with 29 laps to go.

And some advice for Jones from his sometime driver coach (a chap with a Le Mans LMP2 win to his name) -
Chilton now heads the queue from Coyne's rookie Jones, Castroneves and Bourdais' stand-in Davison, with Alonso ninth.
With that pit stop under the cautions complete and the order shaken out, the running order looks like:

Chilton will cycle back into the lead now, with everyone basically clear to run to the flag from here.
Looks like everyone will pit under this yellow. Great news for Chilton, who got his stop out of the way just before the caution.

That yellow is due to Kimball's Honda engine seemingly blowing. And Veach is parking up too.
