The exact finishing order is set for review due to the chaotic finish with the crash at the last corner, but there's no doubt about Dale Jr's victory - 10 years after he first won this famous race.
Crash
A big shunt erupted just behind the leaders at the final corner, with Kyle Busch, Sorenson, Harvick among those caught up. Earnhardt was clear for his second win.
Hamlin is second, then Gordon and Keselowski.
Hamlin is second, then Gordon and Keselowski.
Trophy
Dale Earnhardt Jr wins the 2014 Daytona 500
Hamlin takes second from Keselowski, both close on Earnhardt.
Earnhardt leads onto the last lap.
Gordon loses momentum on the inside, now Hamlin jinks ahead of him into third, challenging Keselowski for second.
Earnhardt makes another great restart to inch ahead, as Gordon attacks Keselowski.
Green flag
Green!
Whatever happens now, it's a two-lap dash to decide the 2014 Daytona 500, 10 hours after it began...
A big piece of debris just got picked up by leader Earnhardt's car. He's weaving around behind the pace car trying to breeze it off, but to no avail so far.
We'll have Earnhardt leading Keselowski, Gordon, Kyle Busch, Edwards and Johnson when this goes green. And is it going to be a green-white-chequered...?
Crash
Dillon was in that again - he pushed team-mate Newman into the wall, Newman spun back, and most of the back of the field got tangled.
Crash
Kligerman, Scott, Whitt, Newman, Allgaier, Terry Labonte all caught up in it.
Yellow flag
Big crash in midfield, yellow with seven laps left.
Keselowski through to second, and he's bringing Kyle Busch onto Earnhardt's tail too.
Harvick loses a bit of ground on the outside and now it's Keselowski among the Hendrick gaggle.
Earnhardt, Harvick and Gordon make it an all-Hendrick top three, but Harvick is trying very hard to break that up.
No yellow - Busch missed everything and kept himself going so looks like they're happy to stay green with 10 laps left.
Crash
Kurt Busch spins out of Turn 4. Doesn't hit anything.
Sorenson, who had jumped up the order by not taking tyres at the last stops, makes a slow getaway on the outside and falls back.
Green flag
Back to green, Earnhardt into a clear lead, 13 to go.
We've got 14 laps left and it looks like the rain is just far enough away not to be a factor.
The Hendrick cars are coasting under the caution and saving fuel, but Kurt Busch and Newman are among those to dive in and top up.

Earnhardt
Just before that, the Hendrick cars had surged forward and the Roush Fords had dropped back, so the order is Earnhardt leading Johnson, Harvick, star underdog Reed Sorenson, Keselowski, Biffle and Gordon.
Crash
Everyone managed to miss Bayne as he spun down the track after wiggling into the wall.
Crash
No repeat win for the 2011 victor this year.
Yellow flag
Bayne into the wall and spins, yellow.
Edwards back in front with 21 laps to go, and Kenseth is following him past Earnhardt.
Earnhardt manages to pull down ahead of Edwards in a clear lead.
It's Edwards and Earnhardt side by side for first and second, then everyone behind them is going three-abreast.
Edwards now just in front of Earnhardt for the lead.
Three-wide with Edwards, Earnhardt and Biffle for a moment, and Biffle gets swamped in the middle, falling to fourth.
Big side draft for Biffle thrusts him into the lead with 27 laps to go, leaving Earnhardt battling Edwards for second. Johnson and Kenseth are right behind, then Keselowski and Gordon.
Not for long though, as Earnhardt carries much more speed on the high line and sweeps clear. Johnson goes around Biffle into second too and he's bringing fellow Hendrick man Gordon with him.
Now Biffle catches up and starts to edge ahead of Earnhardt slightly.
Earnhardt makes a clean break in the lead, Edwards and Biffle are side by side for second.
Green flag
Back to green with 33 laps left.

Larson's verdict on that shunt - and his wild day:
"It's been a long day. I got in the wall on lap one, then blew a tyre and spun out, finally got in position to get the lucky dog, then Austin got loose and got into me. It sucks to end it like this."

Bayne has been off-sequence on pitstops recently. He's 17th and reckons he has more than enough fuel to do what he fancies with.
