IndyCar - Sonoma: James Davison's morning was cut short by an engine problem, and the Aussie told AUTOSPORT a few minutes ago that they're not 100 per cent sure that the glitch has been completely fixed for qualifying. Could be a long afternoon in the second Coyne car.

IndyCar - Sonoma: And that's the end of that. Franchitti finishes the session on top, with Ryan Hunter-Reay and Sebastien Bourdais second and third-fastest.

IndyCar - Sonoma: Penske dips into its spares bin for a new nose after Power skates into the rear of Viso's car. Lots of arm-waving in the Venezuelan's direction by the Australian after that one.
IndyCar - Sonoma: Andretti moves up to second, but he's still 0.6s off Franchitti's time. Further back, Lucas Luhr has passed an important milestone in his fledgling IndyCar career: he's just gone faster than Ed Carpenter.

IndyCar - Sonoma: Just as we write that, Franchitti emerges from pitlane and goes straight to the top with his first flying lap.
IndyCar - Sonoma: The Andretti team has just woken up, with Ryan Hunter-Reay and Marco Andretti moving into the top two spots. There are 30 minutes left, and we've seen laps from everyone but Ganassi's Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti.
IndyCar - Sonoma: Out on the track, you're not missing much. The sun is shining, cars are driving around, and Simon Pagenaud has just displaced EJ Viso as the current leader.

IndyCar - Sonoma: More 'news that isn't really news' - Panther's John Barnes confirmed to AUTOSPORT this morning that Oriol Servia will be in the team's car for the rest of the year. Ryan Briscoe had been pushing his ALMS team Level 5 to allow him to do double-duty in Baltimore, but to no avail.
IndyCar - Sonoma: AUTOSPORT spent the morning cruising around the paddock chatting to people, and heard several variants of the same story - this weekend's tyres are a pain. SPM's Tristan Vautier put it best:

IndyCar - Sonoma: Green flag, and Will Power leads the field out to start the final practice session.
There's more motorsport action to come this evening in the form of IndyCar practice and qualifying at Sonoma, which kick-off at 18:00 and 21:30 GMT respectively.

It has been a pretty eventful day so far, so prepare to give your web browser a bit of a workout as we recap on everything that's happened.
We've seen Cal Crutchlow claim his second MotoGP pole of his career in qualifying in Brno and Rob Austin achieved a similar feat at Knockhill in British Touring Cars.
Dani Sordo has taken a surprise lead of Rally Germany, and in single-seaters, Sam Bird reached the top step of the podium in GP2 over in Belgium.
Oh, and James Moffat clinched his maiden V8 Supercars victory and in doing so gave Nissan its first win in the series for 21 years.

IndyCar - Sonoma: First scrap of news from the weekend: Schmidt Peterson Motorsport has re-signed with Honda for next year. No huge surprises there.
IndyCar - Sonoma: It's a gorgeous morning in Northern California's wine country. Practice is stil a couple of hours away, but the catch phrase for the weekend so far has been 'grip'.

GP3 - Spa: Great celebration shots from Kvyat's helmet-mounted TV camera on his slowing down lap. Although he's hardly had to slow down at all, as he's been driving at this speed for much of the race behind the safety car.

GP3 - Spa: Daft finish to a crazy race, quite fitting it ended under the safety car, which could argue it led almost as many laps as winner Kvyat. Behind him, Daly, Regalia, Korjus, Sims, Yelloly and McKee chug across the finish line, with Ellinas making a remarkable recovery from his stall to finish eighth, and bag reversed-grid pole.
GP3 - Spa: The safety car makes the finish line with 12s to spare for another lap at a snail's pace. Talk amongst yourselves for another 3mins.
GP3 - Spa: This race is likely to finish under the safety car, with only two minutes left on the clock. Race order is Kvyat, Daly, Regalia, Korjus, Sims, Yelloly, McKee and Ellinas.
GP3 - Spa: The entire rear suspension and gearbox assembly was torn off Harvey's car in the second impact, demonstrating for forces involved in the multiple impacts. The second one in particular was very nasty. Both drivers are out of their cars and walking around.

GP3 - Spa: Big, big shunt for Harvey on the Kemmel straight as he touches wheels with Sainz on the approach to Les Combes. He walks away from a totally-wrecked ART machine.
Harvey drifted across to his right, Sainz refused to budge, as Harvey whacked the barriers on each side of the track at very high speed. The third safety car of the race.

GP3 - Spa: Points leader watch: Ellinas passes team-mate Zamparelli for 11th.
GP3 - Spa: A good lap for Daly, who had dropped back to 1.2s behind Kvyat. He's now just 0.7s behind the leader. Further back, Sims attacks Regalia at Les Combes for fifth, but runs wide and coughs up a place to Korjus. That was unfortunate, as the Carlin man was making real inroads.
GP3 - Spa: Kvyat has no such worries on this lap, setting the fastest tour of the race. Ellinas is up to 15th.
GP3 - Spa: Kvyat has just held off a big run from Daly into Les Combes. There was a suspicion yesterday that the ART cars were running less downforce than the MW Arden cars. It's going to be interesting to watch the fight develop.

GP3 - Spa: At the restart, it's another shunt at La Source. Another safety car. Fong to blame this time, braking way too late and taking out Niederhauser. Poor stuff.
