IndyCar - Sonoma: Power straight on the offensive again, going side-by-side with Dixon through the first two corners. Dixon wins out, and Power has now dropped another couple of spots.
IndyCar - Sonoma: Kimball is up and running again, so it seems his problem wasn't that serious. It's a different story for Newgarden, who had a broken front wing and has also developed a gearbox problem.

IndyCar - Sonoma: And Kimball's problem appears terminal - we're under yellows while his stricken car is retrieved from the middle of Turn 2. Initial replays show that he clipped the rear of Castroneves' car just before he went off.

IndyCar - Sonoma: Green flag. Aggressive start by Power, but he stays in third. Behind them, Charlie Kimball is in trouble in Turn 1.

IndyCar - Sonoma: Little bit of news during the installation laps. The Jaime Alguersuari-to-IndyCar rumours appear to have more traction in Europe than they do here, but Dallara has confirmed to AUTOSPORT that if the Spaniard does arrive, it will be without any assistance or input from the chassis manufacturer. Spanish outlets had reported that Dallara was driving the deal.
IndyCar - Sonoma: And there's the command to start engines. Speaking of engines, James Davison has changed his and will start from the back. He qualified on the second-last row anyway, so it has hardly ruined his afternoon.
IndyCar - Sonoma: Most of the pre-race build-up is done with, including a particularly gymnastic version of the national anthem sung by an animated, skinny man. It's a warm, sunny day, and by Sonoma standards, it looks like a pretty decent crowd has turned up.
All signs are that they'll be rewarded with a good race. Everyone expects a clear three-stopper - no Mid-Ohio-sneaky-Kimball-two-stopper trickery here. The wind has changed direction again since yesterday, which will annoy everyone, but the main factor today will be managing the tyres.

IndyCar - Sonoma: The session ends with the top three unchanged, although Tony Kanaan made things vaguely interesting at the end with a late move up to fourth.

IndyCar - Sonoma: Green flag. OK, we'll square with you - the green flag was six minutes ago, but AUTOSPORT was in pitlane and took a while to make it back up to the media centre. But aside from some practice pitstops, you haven't missed much. In other words, it's been far less interesting than a man walking a pig.

BTCC - Knockhill - race three results: 1 Jordan; 2 Neal +3.9s; 3 Collard; 4 Turkington; 5 Austin; 6 Plato; 7 Welch; 8 M Jackson; 9 Foster; 10 Morgan.

BTCC - Knockhill: An imperious drive by Jordan who, despite the safety car intervention, crosses the line 3.9s ahead of Neal to take his fourth win of the season.

BTCC - Knockhill: Neal isn't exactly pulling away from Collard and Turkington at the moment. He has a 0.4s over the duo, who are still maintaining their positions in third and fourth respectively.

BTCC - Knockhill: And more drama as Aaron Smith has gone off the road and into the tyre barriers. Replays show he tapped Bushell who spun round and tapped him off the circuit.

BTCC - Knockhill: The safety car has been deployed to remove Warren Scott's stricken car. Jordan won't happy as he had a two second lead before its apperance.
BTCC - Knockhill: And the Scotsman finds a way past Austin at Butchers on lap 8 of 24.
BTCC - Knockhill: Jordan is making progress at the front of the field and is 1.3s ahead of Collard and Neal. Shedden, meanwhile, continues to harry Austin in an attempt to take fifth place.

Saying that, the compact layout of the 1.2-mile Fife circuit is definitely playing to the strengths of his rear-wheel drive BMW, so it will be interesting to see how he fares this afternoon.

NASCAR - Bristol: Meanwhile in the battle just to be part of the title-chasing dozen, anything can still happen, with the Chase field changing race by race at the moment.
Second and fifth last night for Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano brought them into the top 10 along with Dale Earnhardt Jr and Greg Biffle, and squeezed Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch out.
Keselowski and Busch can't even cling on to wildcard spots because they haven't won a race this year. Neither has 13th-placed Jeff Gordon.
But winning at Watkins Glen and Indianapolis respectively means 14th and 15th-placed Martin Truex Jr and Ryan Newman are currently set to leapfrog their more consistent rivals into the Chase.

NASCAR - Bristol: The main focus in the NASCAR Sprint Cup right now is on the battle to get into the Chase, with just two races left before the field is set.
But the top of the championship is changing shape rather too - there's a real chance Jimmie Johnson might not lead the standings at the end of the 'regular season'.
With an engine failure at Michigan last week and a tangle with a spinning backmarker at Bristol last night, Johnson has lost 57 points to Clint Bowyer in less than a week and now leads by only 18 points.
Meanwhile Matt Kenseth's fourth win of the year puts him up to sixth.
Johnson, Bowyer, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Kenseth have all now officially clinched places in this year's Chase.
