MotoGP - Assen: Valentino Rossi makes it a Yamaha one-two as he goes second quickest, half a second down on Lorenzo.

MotoGP - Assen: This has not been a happy venue for Lorenzo in recent seasons.

In both 2011 and '12 he was taken out on the first lap by a Gresini bike, with Marco Simoncelli crashing and collecting him on the former occasion and Alvaro Bautista ploughing into him at the first corner last year.

MotoGP - Assen: Dani Pedrosa is setting the early pace by a tenth of a second over Marc Marquez.

Valentino Rossi, Cal Crutchlow and Jorge Lorenzo are next up.

MotoGP - Assen: The title battle is now very finely poised.

Just as Honda looked like it was going to edge away, Jorge Lorenzo started winning again - triumphing at both Mugello and Barcelona to keep Dani Pedrosa under pressure.

As is traditional with MotoGP's Dutch TT, we're starting a day early. The race was originally put to Saturday rather than Sunday for religious reasons, and has simply stayed there.

So that means practice on Thursday, qualifying on Friday and racing on Saturday. There are also some slight adjustments to the schedule during the weekend to avoid too many direct clashes with Formula 1 action at Silverstone, as is normally the case when MotoGP and its four-wheeled counterpart are racing in the same timezone on the same weekend.
