Lorenzo's early breakaway is over and done with, and he now has three other riders breathing down his neck.
There's now a big train of riders behind Vinales, who is struggling for pace.
Rossi starting to make inroads on Lorenzo, gap down to half a second now. Vinales is a second behind fourth-placed Marquez.
Top 10 after two laps: 1 Lorenzo; 2 Rossi; 3 Dovizioso; 4 Marquez; 5 Vinales; 6 Pedrosa; 7 Crutchlow; 8 A. Espargaro; 9 Kallio; 10 Bautista.
And Vinales runs very wide at Turn 16 fighting Dovizioso, which drops him behind the Italian - and behind Marquez.
Rossi down the inside of Vinales at Turn 12, move done. Lorenzo a second up the road now.
Vinales second, Rossi third, Dovizioso up to fourth already after picking off Crutchlow.
The lights are out, the race is underway! Lorenzo storms to the lead.
Expect Lorenzo to be quick early on - he usually is, and the medium front - soft rear tyre selection won't hurt. Dovizioso has gone for the same, the Yamaha pair have picked medium-hard, Marquez hard-hard, Pedrosa medium-medium.
Valentino Rossi managed a heroic third place in qualifying yesterday - but how his injured leg will cope with 23 consecutive laps remains a big question mark.

Fingers crossed the MotoGP race turns out as exciting - and there's no reason why it shouldn't. Honda duo Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa and Yamaha poleman Maverick Vinales have all looked very close on long runs - and Jorge Lorenzo could fancy a first win with Ducati as well.
In Moto2, Franco Morbidelli - who will be riding for Marc VDS Honda in MotoGP next year - nudged Mattia Pasini out of the way on the final lap to strengthen his championship lead over future premier-class teammate Tom Luthi.
Before we get to MotoGP matters, there were some rather eventful races in the lower categories so far this morning/afternoon. In Moto3, Joan Mir beat Fabio Di Giannantonio by 0.043s and Enea Bastianini by 0.051s - so basically a typical race for that series.
The grid for the 23-lap race:
1 Vinales
2 Lorenzo
3 Rossi
4 Crutchlow
5 Marquez
