The race pace-focused FP4 has just concluded, with Vinales nicking the top spot from Honda duo Pedrosa and Marquez at the chequered flag. KTM's Pol Espargaro took fourth, more than half a second off.

But if qualifying does end up being the one-man show it threatens to be, there will be at least plenty of interest further in the pack, with Valentino Rossi's unlikely early return from a broken leg looking very much worth the effort so far. The predicted recovery period of 30 days has not yet passed, and the Italian is not only back, but very much on pace – having managed to secure an automatic Q2 bye in FP3.
Marc Marquez's pole streak was rather unexpectedly ended by Maverick Vinales last time out at Misano, but the Honda man - and most everybody else - will expect him to be back in first place on the grid here. Nobody else in the premier class has scored an Aragon pole since Marquez arrived in 2013, and on evidence of practice pace this weekend looks par for the course.
