WRC8 reveals classic WRC car roster ahead of game launch

WRC8 has revealed the list of classic World Rally Championship cars that will feature in the game, including the dominant Volkswagen Polo

The game features six historic cars as well as "three iconic rally cars that are great examples of the rich variety of cars that are driven in the WRC".

The 1970s era is represented through the Alpine A110, Lancia Stratos and Ford Escort MkII RS1800.

The 1983 title-winning Lancia 037 and multiple championship-winning Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evolution also feature.

Completing the six historic cars is VW's all-conquering Polo, which won four consecutive drivers' and manufacturers' titles between 2013-16.

WRC8 also gives gamers a chance to drive the Proton Iriz R5 before it is available to use in WRC2 next year.

Further additions include the Porsche 911 GT3 RGT and Lancia Fulvia HF.

These cars can be used in any game mode and will feature in career mode as playable challenges in between the main rallies.

The Lancia Fulvia HF, Lancia Stratos, VW Polo and Proton Iriz R5 will all be available from launch, and the remaining cars will form the pre-order bonus and day one DLC.

WRC8 launches on September 5 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and it is the first officially-licensed WRC game in nearly two years, featuring over 100 stages and a redesigned career mode.
