Wilson hits form
Formula 3000 rookie Justin Wilson has produced his best test performance yet
The Astromega driver was seventh fastest, making him the second quickest Brit at the A1-Ring test.
He said, 'I always knew it would take time to build up to speed, but I'm under no illusions. My target for Imola is to qualify for the race.'
Nordic Racing's Kevin McGarrity was happy with 15th after a couple of spins. The Northern Irishman said, 'It's my own fault I didn't do better. We are only 0.8s off Heidfeld - it's crazily competitive.'
Oliver Gavin was also less than a second off Heidfeld's best, but was 20th for Edenbridge Racing because of a broken rear damper. He said, 'Given that I haven't raced a single-seater for so long I'm happy.'
