Hamilton goes fastest at Ricard
McLaren protege Lewis Hamilton continued to show that he will be a force to be reckoned with in this year's GP2 series, by topping the timesheets on the first day of 2006 testing at Paul Ricard on Wednesday
ART driver Hamilton was fastest both in the morning and afternoon session of the day but run close by Soper Nova's Jose Maria Lopez who was just over a tenth of a second slower than the Briton.
New Durango recruit Lucas di Grassi, confirmed at the team earlier this month, was third quickest.
The test was an opportunity to test Bridgestone's new slick tyres for the first time, with early indications suggesting that the cars are approximately three seconds per lap quicker around the 2.4 mile '3D' track layout of the French circuit.
