Martinez ends Barcelona test on top
Marcos Martinez headed the classification in the afternoon session at the conclusion of Barcelona's three day Formula Renault 3.5 test on Thursday
The 22-year-old Pons driver's time of 1:33.710 failed to eclipse Robert Wickens' morning best by eight tenths of a second.
Wickens was absent from the afternoon running owing to A1GP commitments.
Salvador Duran, the 2007 Barcelona World Series pole-sitter and entering his second season with Interwetten.com, ended the afternoon second fastest, ahead of Frenchman Julien Jousse. Martinez, Duran and Jousse were among only seven drivers to improve on their morning times.
The day was the final collective test before the first race in Monza, although several teams, notably RC Motorsport and newcomers Ultimate-Signature, plan to visit Le Castellet for aerodynamic evaluation before moving on to Italy.
RC will run at Paul Ricard's Track 3A configuration, which features a long straight, to simulate Monza.
