Karthikeyan fastest at Jarama

Narain Karthikeyan set the pace in the final pre-season test for this year's Dallara Nissan World Series, held at the Jarama circuit in Spain yesterday (Wednesday)

Carlin Motorsport dominated the test at the circuit that will host the opening round of the championship, with Karthikeyan's team-mate Bruce Jouanny setting the second fastest time, 0.211s slower than the Indian.

"There were a lot of red flags but we manahed to make some clear laps using fresh Michelin tyres," said Karthikeyan. "We would like to start the season here at El Jarama with some top positions. Carlin Motorsport is adapting very well to this new series. I'm very confident."

Former Arrows Formula 1 driver Enrique Bernoldi set the third best time for RC Motorsport, ahead of Frenchman Franck Montagny.
