West-Tec signs Maurage, Ma

Ex-Spanish Formula 3 racer Qinghua Ma and French Auto Sport Academy Series graduate Mathieu Maurage will make their British Formula 3 debuts in the next two rounds of the series respectively

The duo will each race a Dallara Mugen-Honda F307 for Team West-Tec in the National Class, alongside regular driver Max Snegirev.

Maurage, 18, will make his category debut as British F3 visits the new Algarve circuit in Portugal for the first time on September 11-13, while Ma will rejoin West-Tec to make his British F3 debut with the car at the Brands Hatch season finale a week later.

West-Tec co-team principle John Miller said: "We are really looking forward to working with Mathieu. I am sure he will have a lot to learn, but I am also sure he has the ability to show well. The Auto Sport Academy has a great history of producing good drivers, and I am sure Mathieu will be no exception.

"Qinghua is also a quality driver. We had plans together this year, as he did well with us last season, but unfortunately his sponsors were badly affected by the economic situation.

"He is bound to be a little rusty, as he hasn't been in a car since last December, but the whole team is really pleased to see him back on the track and I am sure we will see him do a good, professional job at Brands Hatch."
