Webb fastest in final British F3 test
Fortec driver Oli Webb gave his pre-season hopes for the forthcoming British Formula 3 campaign a major boost by going quickest on the final day of testing ahead of the championship's first race yesterday
Webb topped the Silverstone timesheet by 0.02s and lapped 0.06s better than Tuesday's fastest time, which was set by Carlin driver Jean-Eric Vergne.
Vergne also improved on his Tuesday best to end the day second overall, just ahead of his team-mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook.
Hitech Racing's William Buller recovered from a mighty shunt in the wet early-morning conditions at the new-profile Abbey chicane, to go fourth quickest in a spare Dallara-Volkswagen. Team-mate Gabriel Dias put in his strongest pre-season showing to date to round out the top six, the Hitech pair sandwiching Carlin's James Calado.
T-Sport's Menasheh Idafar was again the quickest of the National class runners.
