Vergne ends Rockingham test on top
Jean-Eric Vergne set the quickest time on the second day of this week's British Formula 3 test at Rockingham
The Red Bull-backed Carlin driver's 1m10.970s on Tuesday was the fastest of the test and put him three tenths clear of Fortec's Oli Webb, who set his best time on Monday.
Vergne set his best lap towards the end of the morning session yesterday and then spun into the gravel. He resumed to set the fastest time of the afternoon's running as well.
"We had a good test," he said. "I think we learned a lot about the car and the circuit, and I was very happy to finish quickest overall. I think we are really making some good steps forward now. With every session I feel I know more about the car and feel more comfortable."
Carlin's James Calado and Adriano Buzaid finished the test third and fourth fastest with Raikkonen Robertson team-mates Daisuke Nakajima and Carlos Huertas completing the top six.
